Steps:
- Insert a toothpick into each banana piece. Arrange bananas, toothpick side up, on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze until firm, 2 hours.
- In a medium microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate chips in 10-second increments, stirring between each, until melted and smooth. Working quickly, dip each banana piece in chocolate, shake off excess, and cover with sprinkles. Chocolate should set quickly, but if necessary, freeze pops to harden coating before serving.

BANANA POPS
Frozen banana pops are a snap to make, and taste a lot like ice cream. For extra pizzazz drizzle with chocolate sauce before serving. The recipe calls for using popsicle sticks. If unavailable, the end of each pop can be held in a folded piece of plastic wrap.

This is a nice dessert after a casual meal. The kids love rolling the bananas in various toppings, and I like keeping the frosty treats in the freezer for healthy snacks.-Joy Cochran, Roy, Washington

- Prepare the bananas by peeling them and cutting each in half. Stick a skewer or popsicle stick into the cut end of the banana. Press it in far enough so that the banana is stable, but that there is enough sticking out so that you can hold it.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and oil. Give it a quick stir so that all of the chocolate is coated in the oil.
- Microwave the chocolate and oil in 20 to 30 second intervals, stirring after each. Repeat until the mixture is smooth and completely melted. Watch carefully to make sure that the chocolate in the bottom of the bowl doesn’t burn.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set it next to the bananas and melted chocolate. Set out any toppings you want to sprinkle or drizzle onto the bananas once they’re covered in the chocolate.
