These wings will be a big hit at your next party! The meat is really tender - just falls off the bone. And the marinade makes these wings really flavorful. Make sure to have a lot of napkins handy!

Time 3h15m

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 lb fresh chicken wings
MARINADE
1 c soy sauce

1 Tbsp black pepper
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 c dark brown sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. Mix all marinade ingredients in medium container with lid. Cover container and shake vigorously.
  • 3. Place washed chicken wings in aluminum pan so that they are all laying flat, not on top of each other.
  • 4. Pour marinade over chicken wings to coat.
  • 5. Place in preheated oven and cook for about an hour. Turn wings over and raise the temperature to 425 degrees and cook for an additional half hour.
  • 6. If using frozen wings bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours. Then raise the temperature to 425 degrees and bake for an additional hour or until desired crispiness. Ovens vary so watch carefully.

FINGER LICKIN' OVEN BARBECUE CHICKEN

Finger Lickin' Oven Barbecue Chicken image

This recipe makes a very flavorful sauce that is perfect on chicken or used to jazz up plain rice. It is great to fix when you want to grill but the weather just won't cooperate! Even people who don't like barbecue love this sauce. I typically like to double it and set some aside for extra dipping

Provided by Chef Buggsy Mate

Categories     Chicken

Time 1h15m

Yield 2 cups, 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

3 -4 lbs chicken pieces
1 small onion, chopped
1 cup ketchup
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons buffalo wing sauce (I use Ken's brand)
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons prepared yellow mustard, well rounded
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon canola oil

Steps:

  • Pour canola oil into a large frying pan and heat over medium heat.
  • Add chicken pieces and brown well.
  • Remove chicken and place in a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Add onion to the frying pan and stir well; scraping up and brown bits from the chicken.
  • Sauté about 2 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl combine remaining sauce ingredients and stir to mix well.
  • Pour sauce mixture into frying pan with onion and stir to combine.
  • Simmer sauce for 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
  • Pour over chicken, then flip pieces so that both sides of the chicken get coated with sauce.
  • Bake chicken for 30 minutes or until juices run clear.
  • Note: If you double the sauce so you have enough for extra dipping, make sure you only pour 1/2 over the chicken before baking. The remainder of the sauce can simmer gently while the chicken bakes.

FINGER-LICKING CHICKEN MARINADE

Finger-Licking Chicken Marinade image

A wonderful marinade for chicken. If you don't have Miracle Whip, mayonnaise may be substituted. I usually marinate chicken in the marinade at least 30 minutes before cooking. However, I once took chicken sitting in the marinade to a cook-out, and other people there who had brought their own chicken started dipping their chicken in my left-over marinade to coat, then barbecuing right away without waiting for it to marinate. It was still delicious! I've found I can coat over a dozen chicken pieces with a single recipe of the marinade. These days I make this without the Tbs of salt when making it just for myself, but people's tolerance for low salt varies widely and so I've posted it the way I've found suits most people best. I'd say be guided by your own tastes when it comes to amount of salt used.

  • Extra-Saucy Baked Chicken Wings. Glaze these crispy-beyond-crispy chicken wings with a honey-garlic-soy sauce or go with classic Buffalo—your chicken wing recipe, your choice!
  • BA's Best Buffalo Wings. Two key steps ensure extra-crisp hot wings: Let them sit at room temperature to even the cooking time, and dredge them in cornstarch, which transforms into a crunchy shell when fried.
  • Crispy Peppercorn Chicken Wings. These super-flavorful, no-fry chicken wings turn out best when they’re seasoned ahead of time. You can do this as little as 1 hour in advance, but letting them hang out with salt and those spices overnight is a complete game changer.
  • Tandoori Chicken Wings. Yogurt tenderizes the chicken in this recipe for grilled chicken wings. The sooner you get your meat marinating, the better! View Recipe.
  • Hot Honey Wings. Hot honey is good on everything: pizza, biscuits, and these crispy, low-fuss grilled wings, which are cooked with shishito peppers for a one-two appetizer punch.
  • Grilled Chicken Wings With Summer Berry Agrodolce. With a bag of frozen berries in your kitchen, you don't have to worry too much about what season it is to make this sour-sweet chicken wing recipe.
  • Burnt Masala Wings. Burning the spices in the marinade re-creates at home the slightly bitter taste and smell you get from the 800°-plus oven. “Roasting, then grinding masala adds depth of flavor to the wings,” chef Preeti Mistry says.
  • Greek Wings With Lemon and Feta. Mashama Bailey’s irresistible lemony, crispy wings need two hours to marinate—so plan accordingly. View Recipe.
  • Crispy Turmeric-and-Pepper-Spiced Chicken Wings. These wings start out on a baking sheet in a cold oven, allowing the fat to render slowly for maximum crispness (and maximum deliciousness).
  • Smoked Chicken Wings. These smoky grilled wings are slathered in a hot sauce–spiked homemade bbq sauce enriched with melted butter. View Recipe.
