1/4 teaspoon fennel seeds
a 6-inch pita loaf (preferably pocketless)
1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
1/8 teaspoon coarse salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350° F.
  • On a cutting board with side of a knife lightly crush fennel seeds. Brush top of pita with oil and sprinkle with crushed fennel and coarse salt. On a baking sheet bake pita in middle of oven until golden and crisp, about 3 minutes.
  • Cut pita into 4 wedges.

2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried dill, optional
3 rounds of white or whole wheat pita bread
Salt

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, and seasonings (except salt). Brush the pita rounds on both sides with the seasoned oil. Cut each round into 12 wedges. Lay the wedges on a baking sheet in a single layer. Sprinkle lightly with salt and bake for about 10 minutes, then turn wedges over and bake another 3-5 minutes. They should be darkened and crispy but not too brown. Cool completely and serve. Any leftovers will keep for several days in a Ziploc bag or airtight container.

I searched for months for a recipe that tastes the same if not better than the store-bought pita chips. After many attempts, I found what everyone seems to think are perfect pita chips! They take barely any time to prepare and go great with spinach artichoke dip! Add Italian seasoning, herbs, or Parmesan cheese for a twist!

1 package pita pockets
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon garlic salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Brush one side of each piece pita pocket with olive oil. Sprinkle the garlic powder, salt, and garlic salt over the pita pockets. Slice each pocket into 4 even triangles.
  • Bake in preheated oven until the triangles turn a light brown color, 15 to 20 minutes.

I used to buy pita bread and have lots left over. So I would make these and serve them at weekend parties with dips, my Okinawan friends loved them!

6 pita bread, slices
1/4 cup olive oil, for brushing
salt and cracked pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cut each slice of pita bread into 6-8 triangles, depending on how big a piece you have. I usually got 6 triangles from 1 round.
  • Place triangles on cookie sheet. Brush with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste.
  • Slip into oven for about 10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, but not burned! I always have to watch them closely. I have burned many trays myself by becoming distracted.
  • Put on plate/rack to cool. Repeat with remaining triangles till you have no more! When cool put in serving bowl or however you are gonna serve them. Enjoy!

½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic salt
½ teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried chervil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Cut each pita bread into 8 triangles. Place triangles on lined cookie sheet.
  • In a small bowl, combine the oil, pepper, salt, basil and chervil. Brush each triangle with oil mixture.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 7 minutes, or until lightly browned and crispy. Watch carefully, as they tend to burn easily!

1/4 cup reduced-fat margarine, melted
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Split each pita pocket in half. Cut each into two triangles; place split side up on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. , In a bowl, combine the margarine, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper; stir in the Parmesan cheese.
