Steps:
- Chop the vegetables very fine: the cabbage, carrots, and onions are all chopped very fine, almost like the size of rice. You can chop them with a sharp knife, or if you have a food processor with a shredding attachment, use that and then finely chop with a sharp knife. (See note about using a pre-shredded coleslaw mix.)
- In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients for the dressing. Whisk until smooth.
- Add in cabbage, carrots, and onion; mix well until everything is thoroughly coated.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight. (If you have time - and can remember! - stir it occasionally. This will give you the absolute best results.) Stir again before serving and enjoy!

ALMOST FAMOUS COLESLAW
Here's our take on the coleslaw served at KFC. It's sweet and cooling and a perfect pairing for salty fried chicken or any barbecue sandwich.

Steps:
- Working with half of the bag at a time, chop the coleslaw mix into 1/8-inch pieces (about the width of the carrots). Transfer to a large bowl. Dice enough of the onion into 1/8-inch pieces to yield 1/4 cup. Transfer to a fine-mesh strainer and rinse with cold water for 1 minute to soften the flavor. Gently wring out the onions in a paper towel and then stir into the coleslaw mix.
- In a pint jar or other container with a tight-fitting lid, stir together the sugar and 3 tablespoons water until the sugar dissolves a bit. Add the mayonnaise, vinegar, mustard powder, paprika and 1/2 teaspoon salt, put on the lid and shake vigorously until completely combined. Stir the dressing into the coleslaw, then set aside for 10 minutes to marinate and soften, stirring a few times. Add more salt, if needed. The coleslaw will keep, covered in the refrigerator, for up to 1 day.
KFC COLESLAW BY REAL EMPLOYEE
I worked for KFC for 3 years and coleslaw making was a near daily occurrence. This is the real recipe scaled down to table size. I see lot of recipes claiming to be the real thing but none are. This is the real thing. The sugar amount is not a typo. ***I updated the recipe because I left out the onion

Steps:
- First you start off with some cabbage that has been put through your food processor. You want very, very little pieces (the size of rice), some shredded carrot and chopped onion. For the dressing, combine sugar, salt, pepper, milk, mayonnaise, buttermilk, white vinegar and lemon juice together. Now pour your dressing over the cabbage mixture. Let sit for a few hours in the refrigerator.
KENTUCKY COLESLAW
We love going to Kentucky Fried Chicken. Although we enjoy the chicken, we actually go for the coleslaw. We buy several pints at a time. I make several versions of cole slaw but we sometime just want this. I tried for several years before getting this recipe right. I think I have figured it out now.If you are in a hurry get a bag of the preshredded slaw mix. It is not quite as good as grating it yourself though. -Donna Gribbins, Shelbyville, Kentucky

KITTENCAL'S FAMOUS COLESLAW
This is the most delicious coleslaw that you will ever have! I make this for weddings, large socials and in the summer for BBQ's and parties, and there is never anything left it all goes and everyone wants the recipe --- plan ahead the coleslaw needs to be refrigerated for the stated time to blend the flavors, this coleslaw will intensify in flavor with chilling time --- this is not a thick heavy dressing like some other coleslaw recipes it's the perfect texture and flavor and what makes this coleslaw stand out from all others is the fresh lemon juice so please use only fresh I have used bottled in the past and it is just not the same --- the dressing amount will yield enough for two 16-ounce packages prepared coleslaw mix or 1 head of green cabbage --- for one 16-ounce package prepared coleslaw mix use the dressing amounts posted on bottom of recipe and add in 3 or more large of chopped green onions. FAST AND EASY KFC COLE SLAW
i found this recipe at top secret recipes and everyone loves it! they have 2 versions, this was made from the fat-free version although i have been too afraid to actually use the fat free miracle whip. i just used this recipe because the list of ingredients is so short compared to the other version and it tastes perfect everytime i make it. i have shared this recipe with many friends and family members.

Steps:
- Combine miracle whip with sugar in a large bowl.
- Mix well with electric beater until sugar is dissolved.
- Add cabbage, carrot and onion mixture and toss well. (be sure the cabbage and carrot are chopped into very small pieces, about the size of rice.)
- Cover and chill at least 2 hours, preferably over night, before serving. To make things even easier i usually just buy the pre packaged cole slaw bags in the produce dept. they have the carrots and cabbage already chopped. i just chop them up smaller and use that instead of cutting up my own fresh ingredients.

COPYCAT KFC COLESLAW: THE REAL THING
I am an avid collector of recipes. A young lady, a former KFC employee, was looking at my recipes one evening when she discovered this one. She told me that the recipe was close, but that I should remove the vinegar and lemon juice and replace them with tarragon vinegar. Tarragon vinegar is the secret. Note: This is one of the recipes I adopted in the Great 'Zaar Orphan Adoption of 2005. I hope you enjoy it.
