These Slow Cooker ribs are going to melt in your mouth and fall off the bone! They are cooked low and slow so they are perfectly tender and then covered in a sauce that's absolutely to die for!

4 pounds pork baby back ribs
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 cups Homemade BBQ Sauce (or Store Bought)

Steps:

  • Prepare your ribs by removing the membrane and patting dry with a paper towel.
  • Prepare the rub by combining brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Rub evenly on top of the ribs.
  • Cut the ribs in half. Add half of the rack of the ribs into the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour half of the sauce on top and layer with the other rack with remaining sauce. You can also wrap the ribs around the slow cooker if the top will fit on.
  • Cook the ribs on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove the ribs and set on a baking sheet. Pour the sauce on the top. Cook for 10 minutes until the tops get crispy. Brush with additional sauce if needed.

St Louis Style Ribs - Perfect every time. You will not fail with this technique. Become the grill master at your home!

1 Rack St Louis Style ribs
6-8 Tablespoons butter
4 Tablespoons Honey
8 Oz BBQ Sauce
⅔ C White Sugar
⅓ C Dark Brown Sugar
½ C Smoked Paprika
¼ C Garlic Powder
⅓ C Kosher Salt
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp Dry Mustard

Steps:

  • Remove membrane from back of ribs
  • Apply a liberal amount of rub to ribs
  • Wrap in plastic wrap, let rest for 2 to 24 hours
  • After rest, remove plastic wrap and add more rub liberally
  • Start grill
  • Get grill/smoker to stable temperature (225 to 250 degrees)
  • Add smoking wood chips.
  • Put ribs on, meat side up
  • Cook for 2 to 2 and one-half hours
  • Remove ribs from grill
  • Lay ribs onto heavy-duty tin foil, add honey and butter equally to each side.
  • Seal ribs in tin foil, place back on the grill for 1 to 1 and one-half hour.
  • Remove ribs from grill, remove ribs from tin foil
  • Add more heat to grill, if needed
  • Place ribs back on the grill over heat for app 5 minutes each side
  • Cover in BBQ sauce
  • Cook each side for app 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to caramelize.
  • Remove from grill, set aside for 5 to 10 minutes
  • Cut into individual portions.

This is the way my mom and Nana cooked their ribs. We got so excited about eating the ribs, so delicious. Finger lickin' good. It's easy, breezy to make but you have to plan ahead for this recipe as it's in the oven over four hours. It's a fix it and forget it recipe. Low and slow, Enjoy!

2 - racks st. louis ribs
1 cup(s) sweet baby ray's honey barbecue sauce or your favorite bbq sauce
- salt and pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
1 teaspoon(s) minced onion
1/4 teaspoon(s) paprika, sweet mild

Steps:

  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic powder, minced onion, and paprika on both sides of ribs.
  • Place ribs, meat side down, on to a large baking dish or pan.
  • Cover ribs with aluminum foil.
  • Place ribs in a preheated 225 degree oven.
  • Bake for four hours.
  • Remove ribs from the oven.
  • Pour off drippings!!
  • Turn the ribs over. Careful, they are tender and hot! (I use two tongs, but you can use whatever works for you.)
  • Slather with barbecue sauce.
  • Return to oven for twenty-five minutes.
  • Remove from oven and enjoy!

  • Preheat oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet or roasting pan with aluminum foil.
  • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. Just slide your fingers around the side to loosen it up and rip it right off. Use a paper towel to provide a better grip if slippery.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the ingredients for the dry rub, paprika, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and ground mustard. Rub this mixture generously over the outside of the ribs to coat. Place seasoned ribs in a single layer onto prepared baking sheet or roasting pan.
  • Cover pan with aluminum foil. Cook in the preheated 275F degree oven for 3 1/2 to 4 hours until ribs are tender.
