1-1/2 teaspoons grated lime zest
1/4 cup lime juice
2 tablespoons honey
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
3 tablespoons canola oil
1 small head red cabbage (about 3/4 pound), shredded
1 cup shredded carrots (about 2 medium carrots)
2 green onions, thinly sliced
1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves

Steps:

  • Whisk together the first 7 ingredients until smooth. Gradually whisk in oil until blended. Combine cabbage, carrots and green onions; toss with lime mixture to lightly coat. Refrigerate, covered, 2 hours. Sprinkle with cilantro.

Few dashes Bobby Flay's Hot Sauce, or your favorite
1/2 cup olive oil
3 carrots, peeled and shredded
1 medium head green cabbage, shredded
1 red bell pepper, julienned
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Salt and pepper

Steps:

  • For the dressing: Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
  • For the slaw: Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, toss with the dressing and season with salt and pepper, to taste.

  • In a small bowl, stir together the first 3 ingredients until well bleded.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the last 3 ingredients.
  • Add the honey-lime dressing to cabbage mixture and toss until evenly coated.
  • Chill before serving, if desired.

1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon celery seed

  • Toss the cabbage & peppers, set aside.
  • Whip the remaining ingredients together. Add to cabbage/peppers and toss well.
  • Cover & chill for approx 1 hour.

1 (3 ounce) package beef-flavored ramen noodles
1 cup sunflower seed kernels
½ cup slivered almonds
½ cup chopped green onions
1 (4 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
½ cup canola oil
½ cup vinegar
½ cup white sugar

Steps:

  • Put coleslaw mix in a large bowl. Break ramen noodles into small pieces and add to the coleslaw mix; add sunflower seed kernels, almonds, green onions, and water chestnuts.
  • Whisk ramen noodle seasoning, canola oil, vinegar, and sugar together in a separate bowl until the sugar is dissolved into the liquid; drizzle over the salad and toss to coat.
