Steps:

  • Heat oven to 200°F.
  • Beat egg whites and cream of tartar with mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form. Gradually beat in sugar, then coffee. Continue to beat 1 to 2 min. or until glossy. Blend in vanilla.
  • Spoon into pastry bag fitted with large round tip. Use to pipe egg white mixture into 22 mounds, 1 inch apart, on parchment-covered baking sheet.
  • Bake 2 to 2-1/2 hours or until cookies are firm. Transfer to wire rack; cool completely.
  • Melt chocolate as directed on package; drizzle over cookies.

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients. Preheat the oven to 350 F and line a cookie sheet with foil and grease it with butter.
  • Beat the egg whites until foamy. You can do this by hand with a whisk , but it's much faster to use a hand mixer or a standing mixer on medium speed.
  • Gradually add the sugar and continue beating the egg whites until they hold stiff peaks .
