Bar Cookies from Chocolate Cake Mix image

Make a batch of these super easy bar cookies using cake mix. You can mix up the flavor combinations. Check the size of the cake mix to see if you need to add a box of pudding.

1/3 cup water
1 egg
1 18.25 ounce package cake mix or 15.3 plus 1 box of pudding
1 cup chopped walnuts, optional
2 cups chocolate chips, white and semisweet combo if desired
1 4 oz instant pudding mix (if smaller cake mix box), chocolate or vanilla

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  • In A Large Bowl, mix in water and egg, then stir in cake mix and pudding if using. Finally, mix in nuts and chocolate chips. Spread mixture into the pan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes in the preheated oven. Check at 25 minutes as you do not want to overcook these. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

cooking spray
1 (18.25 ounce) package white cake mix
2 large eggs
⅓ cup vegetable oil
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
¼ cup margarine

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  • Combine cake mix, eggs, and oil in a bowl using an electric mixer until well blended, 1 to 2 minutes. Set aside 1/3 of the mixture; press remaining mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form a crust.
  • Combine sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and margarine in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring and checking for completion, about 2 minutes. Pour evenly over the crust. Drop teaspoonfuls of the reserved crust mixture on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

1 yellow cake mix (regular size)
1 large egg
1/2 cup 2% milk
1/3 cup canola oil
1 cup white baking chips
1/3 cup jimmies

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, egg, milk and oil (mixture will be thick). Stir in baking chips and jimmies. Spread into a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan., Bake 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Freeze option: Freeze bars in freezer containers. To use, thaw in covered containers before serving.

5 tablespoons melted butter

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together.
  • Spread in a greased 9x13 glass dish.
  • Use wet hands to spread this out evenly, batter will be THICK!
  • Bake at 350 for 20 minute.
  • Allow pan tyo cool on top of stove for 1 hour.
  • Cut with a pizza cutter into squares.
  • Great served with a dollop of vanilla ice cream, but this is one bar that can stand on its own.

These Cookie Bars are the perfect blend of soft and crunchy. The chocolatey peanut butter middle tastes great mixed with the white cake mix base!

1 15.25-oz white cake mix
1/2 cup canola oil
2 eggs
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter chips
1 14-oz can sweetened condensed milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix together the cake mix, canola oil and eggs - then separate batter into halves. Press one half of the batter into the bottom of a greased 9x13 pan.
  • In a small, microwaveable bowl, mix together the butter, chocolate chips and peanut butter chips. Microwave for 30 seconds, then remove and stir. Keep microwaving and stirring in 15 second intervals until the mixture is completely smooth.
  • Add the sweetened condensed milk to the chocolate chip mixture and stir until completely combined, then pour it over the crust in the 9x13 pan.
  • Take the second half of the cake mix batter, and drop it in spoonfuls over top.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes (until the top starts to turn a golden brown).
  • Allow to cool completely before serving.
