This Teriyaki Chicken recipe will quickly become a new favorite! In this one pan recipe, bite size chicken breasts pieces are sautéed in a skillet then coated with an easy and delicious teriyaki sauce. To make this a 15 minute recipe prep the sauce mixture while the chicken is cooking.

1 1/4 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breasts, (diced into 1-inch cubes)
1 Tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup water*
2 Tbsp honey
1 1/2 Tbsp packed light brown sugar
1 Tbsp rice vinegar
1/4 tsp toasted sesame oil
2 tsp peeled and minced fresh ginger
2 tsp peeled and minced fresh garlic ((2 cloves))
2 tsp cornstarch
Sesame seeds and chopped green onions, (for serving (optional))

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a 12-inch non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add in chicken and let brown on bottom about 3 - 4 minutes then flip and continue to cook until center registers about 160 degrees, about 3 minutes longer.
  • While chicken is cooking, in a small mixing bowl (or liquid measuring cup) whisk together soy sauce, water, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic and cornstarch.
  • Stir the sauce in with the cooked chicken and continue to cook and toss until sauce has thickened, about 30 - 60 seconds longer.
  • Serve warm garnished with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
6 skinless and boneless chicken thighs, sliced
2 large garlic cloves, crushed
1 thumb-sized piece ginger, grated
50g runny honey
30ml light soy sauce
1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp sesame seeds , to serve
4 spring onions, shredded, to serve
sticky rice, to serve
steamed bok choi or spring greens, to serve

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a non-stick pan over a medium heat. Add the chicken and fry for 7 mins, or until golden. Add the garlic and ginger and fry for 2 mins. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, vinegar and 100ml water. Bring to the boil and cook for 2 - 5 mins over a medium heat until the chicken is sticky and coated in a thick sauce.
  • Scatter over the spring onions and sesame seeds, then serve the chicken with the rice and steamed veg.

1 (3 pound) whole chicken, cut in half
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced

Steps:

  • Rinse chicken halves, and pat dry with paper towels. Place chicken cut side down in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine sugar, soy sauce, grated ginger and garlic. Mix well, and pour mixture over chicken. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Bake chicken uncovered in the preheated oven for 1 hour, basting frequently. Test for doneness, making sure there is no pink left in the meat. Let cool slightly, then cut into smaller pieces to serve.

This is a recipe that I adapted from Paula Deen. She used boneless pork chops. Everyone that has tried this recipe has just loved it. It's easy and really tasty.

4 boneless chicken breasts
1 large onion, sliced 1/4 inch thick (red, white, yellow)
1 -2 large bell pepper, sliced 1/2 inch thick (red, green, I use a combination of red and green)
1 (15 1/4 ounce) can pineapple slices
bottled teriyaki sauce
butter
4 pieces heavy duty alumium aluminum foil
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Place one chicken breast in center of a square of alumium foil and salt and pepper.
  • Layer onion and bell pepper slices and 2 pineapple slices on top of each piece of chicken.
  • Drizzle 1-2 tablespoons of bottled teriyaki sauce over chicken mixture.
  • Put 1 tsp butter on top of pineapple slice.
  • Seal up alumium foil by folding edges together.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 45 minutes. You can also put these on the outdoor grill on indirect heat. Serve with rice.

1 chicken bouillon cube
2 cups water
1 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon minced garlic
6 chicken thighs

Steps:

  • In a pot, put bouillon cube, water, soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger and garlic.
  • Heat until boiling when sugar and cube are dissolved.
  • Add chicken and cover. Turn down heat but continue a light boil until chicken is cooked thoroughly, about 25 minutes.
  • Take out chicken and serve.
  • **I add a little cornstarch/water mixture to the soy sauce sometimes to thicken it a bit if I want to serve it over rice.
  • Freezer Directions: Prepare marinade and allow to cool. Place chicken in large freezer back. Pour cooled marinade over chicken. Seal, label, and freeze. To Serve: Thaw in fridge and cook as directed.

4 chopped green onions (optional)
1 cup cooked white rice (optional)
