DELICIOUS QUICK & EASY SOUTHERN SWEET TEA

Steps:
- Place family size tea bag in a microwave safe container filled with water & microwave until it boils (approx. 4min for 4cups).
- While that is going, in a gallon size pitcher, pour about 1 1/2 - 2 inches of sugar in the bottom. I usually eye it and it comes out perfect.
- The microwave should be finishing up. Pour hot tea water into the pitcher over the sugar. The hot water dissolves the sugar granuals. Stir until completely dissolved. (If you have time, let sit in microwave for a while and steep even more. If you don't have time, that's cool too.).
- Fill the rest with cold water & refrigerate.
- Serve over ice. Enjoy!
- --------------------------------------------.
- I, personally, don't put lemon in it because I find that lemon cuts the sugar & you have to use a whole lot more sugar for it to be southern "sweet".

LOW SUGAR (OR SUGAR FREE) SOUTHERN SWEET TEA
Less sugar and no artificial sweeteners- but still that nice authentic southern sweet tea. I grew up in Alabama and had sweet tea in my bottles as a baby. This is not as sweet as the tea that I grew up on with 2 cups of sugar in a half gallon, but it's still plenty sweet for me even with just 1/4 cup sugar. I used to make a sugar free version replacing the sugar with Splenda. Over time I developed an allergy to Splenda, so I started using sugar. Using 2 sweeteners helps avoid an after-taste.

Steps:
- Boil 4 cups hot water. Place tea bags in heat-proof glass container. Pour boiling water over tea bags and steep 15-20 minutes. Remove tea bags. Stir in sugar until completely disolved.
- Add 4 cups ice water to tea, then stir in Stevia packets. Refrigerate overnight. (The stevia after-taste is too strong on the first day) Serve over ice, and use within 4 days (the tea will start to get a bitter taste after a few days).
- NOTE: This makes a strong tea. I like to pour mine over a glass of ice and let it sit for a while before I drink it, so I make it strong enough that it taste right when watered down by melted ice.

DOWN SOUTH SWEET TEA CAKE
I think this recipe combines two of the best and most famous ingredients from the South: sweet tea and pecans! Using a cake mix simplifies prep and helps ease the holiday time crunch. -Melissa Millwood, Lyman, South Carolina

SOUTHERN SPICED TEA
This is my mother's recipe, originally from the 1800's, modern conversions are in parentheses. I grew up drinking it in the winter but like it year round, even iced. I suggest letting the flavors in the tea blend before you serve it, the cloves will become more pronounced. No offense to you powdered spiced tea people, but this is the real thing!
