Steps:

The peanut butter chews that were sold in school cafeterias. I make these for my kids all the time, and sometimes drizzle chocolate and butterscotch on top of the cookies. Rich, but excellent!

Steps:
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine corn syrup and white sugar. Bring to a boil, boil for one minute, and remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter until well blended. Mix in cereal until evenly coated. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
- In a glass bowl in the microwave, or using a double boiler, melt chocolate chips and butterscotch chips, stirring frequently until smooth. Drizzle on the top of the cookies.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, combine all base ingredients except marshmallows at low speed until crumbly.
- Press in bottom of ungreased 13x9 inch pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 12-18 minutes or until light golden brown.
- Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with marshmallows.
- Return to oven for 1-2 minutes or until marshmallows just begin to puff.
- Cool while preparing topping.
- In large saucepan, heat corn syrup, margarine, vanilla and chips just until chips are melted and mixture is smooth, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat; stir in cereal and nuts.
- Immediately spoon warm topping over marshmallows.
- Spread to cover.
- Chill; cut into bars.
- Store covered.

- Put corn syrup, peanut butter, and sugar in a 6 quart pot and bring it to a boil.
- When it has come to a boil, take the pot off the stove top and add the 5 cups rice crispies.
- Mix well until all the rice crispies are well covered with the peanut butter mixure.
- Spread onto Wax paper in a baking sheet and let it cool.
- Cut it into bars or whatever shape you desire.
- (Optional - You can melt baking chocolate and spread onto cooled peanut chews. Let the chocolate harden and then you cut it into bars.).

DELICIOUS CHEWY PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE CHIP OATMEAL BARS
These are the *best* bars and so easy to make, the trick to these is not to overbake, mine bake out perfectly in a 350 degree oven, second-lowest rack for 22 minutes, servings is only estimated --- add in 1 teaspoon cinnamon also if desired --- this was developed using full-fat peanut butter :)

- Set oven to 350 degrees.
- Set oven rack to second-lowest position.
- Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl using an electric mixer at medium speed cream the butter with both sugars and vanilla until no sugar granules remain (about 4 minutes).
- Add in the peanut butter and beat until combined.
- Add in eggs and beat until combined.
- In a bowl combine the flour with baking soda and oats; add to the creamed mixture and mix on low speed until combined.
- Mix in chocolate chips.
- Transfer and spread into prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 22-25 minutes or until JUST set (do not overbake).
- Cool then cut into squares.

SALTY SWEET PEANUT CHEWS

Steps:
- Cream first amount of margarine, peanut butter and brown sugar in large bowl. Add egg. Beat well.
- Combine next 4 ingredients in small bowl. Add to peanut butter mixture. Mix until no dry flour remains.
- Line 9x13 inch (22x33 cm) pan with foil, leaving 1 inch (2.5 cm) overhang on 2 sides. Grease foil with cooking spray. Spread mixture evenly in pan.
- Bake in 350F (175C) oven for about 15 minutes until edges are golden.
- Immediately sprinkle with marshmallows.
- Bake for about 2 minutes until marshmallows start to puff.
- Let stand in pan on wire for 10 minutes.
- Heat and stir next 4 ingredients in large saucepan on medium for 3-4 minutes until smooth.
- Add cereal and peanuts. Stir well.
- Immediately spread evenly over marshmallows.
- Chill for about 1 hour until firm.
- Holding foil, remove mixture from pan. Discard foil.
- Cuts into 40 squares.

CRISPY PEANUT FRUIT CHEWS
Makes a perfect snack for kids lunch boxes! If you are short on time or the weather is very hot, eliminate the baking and chill for about 2 hours before slicing, the taste will still be great but the texture will be more crumbly. This recipe may be doubled.

- Set oven to 350 degrees (set oven to second-lowest rack).
- Butter a 9-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl stir together cereal with raisins, almonds, Craisins (or dried cranberries) and chopped apricots.
- Place the peanut butter, corn syrup and honey in a small saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Reduce heat to low and stir constantly until the mixture is smooth (about 1 minute, the mixture will be very sticky!).
- Scrape the hot mixture over the cereal mixture in the bowl; stir until evenly mixed.
- Transfer the mixture to the baking pan.
- Using the palm of your hand pack down to even out the mixture.
- Bake for about 10-15 minutes or until the top is golden.
- Cool completely in pan, then slice into squares.
