CRISPY DEEP FRIED BACON

Battered and fried bacon that is even better after cooking in the oven for 7 minutes. My husband and I saw the idea of fried bacon on the travel channel where they just battered and fried it and we decided to make it. It was so good. But then we cooked in the oven and it was even better. Serve with white gravy and it is a heart attack waiting to happen but tastes so good!

3 eggs
½ cup milk
1 pound thick sliced bacon, cut in half
3 cups all-purpose flour
salt and pepper to taste
2 cups vegetable oil for frying

Steps:

  • Whisk together the eggs and milk in a bowl until smooth. Separate the bacon strips, and soak in the milk mixture for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Heat oil in deep skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Whisk together the flour, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl. Remove the bacon from the egg mixture, and toss with the flour to coat. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Fry the bacon strips 3 to 5 slices at a time until golden brown, about 4 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Once all of the bacon has cooked, place onto the prepared baking sheet, and bake in the preheated oven until crispy, about 7 minutes.

8 slices bacon
1 cup flour
1 medium egg
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups vegetable oil

Steps:

  • take the flour and salt and mix the around in a large bowl.
  • take the milk and egg and whisk them together in a small bowl.
  • dip the bacon in the milk mix then into the flour, double dip them like that.
  • put the bacon onto a plate and let it chill for 15 minutes.
  • put he oil in the deep-fryer (preheat to 325?) or a pan (put on high).
  • fry until the bacon is ready. (depends on the bacon).
  • put bacon when ready on a plat with a paper towel and you are done.

Steps:

  • Heat a cast-iron or other heavy skillet over medium heat. When hot, add bacon strips in a single layer. Cook until browned on bottom, 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Flip bacon, using tongs, and cook until browned on both sides, about 2 minutes.
  • Drain and reserve fat for another use, and repeat with remaining bacon. Drain bacon on paper towels. Serve immediately.

300 g diced chicken breasts
3 slices middle rashers bacon (Diced)
salt and pepper (to season)
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
3 teaspoons plain flour
3/4 cup breadcrumbs

Steps:

  • Dice chicken and bacon ,mix together in a medium bowl and season with salt and pepper.
  • Add Parsley ,Cheese ,Mayonaise and flour and mix well.
  • Press mixture into approx 1 inch round balls.
  • Roll the balls in bread crumbs until balls become firm enough to deep fry.
  • Put in fridge for an hour or two then deep fry 180c until golden brown (Approx 10min).
  • Serve with fresh salad or cherry tomatoes.

  • Prepare the bacon. Before bacon can be battered and deep fried, it needs to be heated through to make sure it doesn't come out undercooked. Lay out your bacon strips on a pan, plate or baking dish, cutting them as needed so they'll fit in the fryer.
  • Mix up a simple batter. Combine 3 eggs, 2 cups of whole milk and 3 cups of all-purpose flour in a large mixing bowl. Whisk the ingredients together until they form a thick batter.
  • Coat the bacon thoroughly. Once the batter has cooled, take it out of the refrigerator and grab your precooked bacon. Dip the bacon into the batter with a pair of tongs, being sure each strip is generously coated on both sides.
  • Drop the bacon in the fryer. Place 2-3 strips of bacon into the hot oil and allow it to start frying. The number of strips you'll be able to cook per batch will mostly depend on the size of your pan or fryer.
  • Cook for 2 minutes on each side. Give the bacon a little time to absorb the oil and start sizzling. Since the light, airy batter will cause the bacon to float on top of the oil, the slices will need to be turned after a couple minutes.
  • Remove from the fryer and serve. Use your tongs to grab the bacon slices out of the hot oil. Place them on a folded paper towel to soak up excess oil and let them cool off until they're edible.
