This hot cocoa mix powder in a jar takes just minutes to make and is so creamy and delicious, it's the perfect guilt-free treat for your chocolate cravings

1/2 cup cocoa powder
3/4 cup coconut milk powder
1 cup coconut sugar or a keto-friendly sweetener such as this monkfruit

Steps:

  • Sift all three ingredients together and whisk together.
  • Add 2 about Tablespoons of hot cocoa mix to one cup of water. (You can add more or less cocoa mix if you prefer.) Stir well and enjoy!

This ultra-rich and creamy Dairy-Free Hot Cocoa Mix recipe is calling all chocolate lovers! It's simple to make and tastes so much better than store-bought. Made oh-so-healthy with raw cacao powder, date sugar, and coconut milk powder, it's a healthy chocolate dream come true!

Number Of Ingredients 6

½ cup of coconut milk powder
¼ cup of raw cacao powder (or dutched cocoa powder for richer)
¼ cup of date sugar (or beet sugar for sweeter)
1/8 teaspoon of fine sea salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla (or ½ a vanilla bean added to dry mix)
4 cups (32 oz. / 946 ml) of very hot water

Steps:

  • To make 4 servings, add coconut milk powder, cacao (or cocoa) powder, sugar, and salt to a jar and shake. To make 1 serving add ¼ of these ingredients to a mug. (See single-serving ingredients for amounts in blog post.)
  • Whisk ¼ cup of the hot cocoa mix with 1 cup (8 oz.) of very hot water until dissolved and frothy.
  • Stir vanilla extract into prepared cocoa and garnish as desired. (see note on how to flavor dry mix)

3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder (NOT hot cocoa mix)
1/8 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Combine powdered soymilk, sugar, cocoa and salt in large, airtight container.
  • For each serving, add 1/4 cup cocoa mixture into mug with 8 oz. boiling water; stir until well mixed.
  • Garnish with Cool Whip or other dairy-free whipped cream substitute, if desired.

2 -3 teaspoons cocoa powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup vanilla-flavored soymilk

Steps:

  • Pour the soy milk into a microwaveable mug and microwave on high for 1 minute.
  • Add the cocoa powder and sugar and stir well to combine.
  • Note: If using plain soy or rice milk, you can add 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  • I've also added almond extract with wonderful results.
  • The amounts can be tweaked depending on how chocolatey you like your cocoa!
  • Enjoy!
