My neighbor shared this easy-to-make appetizer with me, and it's been a hit whenever I've served it. I took it to our family reunion last summer and it quickly disappeared! I love it because it's simple, yet tasty.

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 jar (8 ounces) chutney or spiced peach jam
1/4 cup finely sliced green onions
Snack crackers of choice

Steps:

  • Press softened cream cheese into oiled mold of desired shape. (For easy removal, spray mold with cooking spray and line with plastic wrap if desired.) , Unmold on chilled plate. Pour chutney over mold; sprinkle with onions. Ring plate with crackers (buttery crackers are especially good with this appetizer). Serve immediately.

1 pinch curry powder to taste
CONDIMENTS TO SPRINKLE
6 each slices crisp bacon broken
6 each green onions chopped
3/4 cup major grey~quotes chutney
1 each box favorite crackers

Steps:

  • PLACE ALL INGREDIENTS @ ROOM TEMPERATURE INTO A CUISINART OR FOOD PROCESSOR AND BLEND. MOLD INTO A FLAT BOWL LINED WITH SERAN WRAP. CHILL THE MOLD. UNMOLD AND COVER WITH CHUTNEY. SPRINKLE ON THE BACON BITS AND GREEN ONIONS AND SERVE WITH YOUR FAVORITE CRACKERS.

1/2 teaspoon curry powder
3/4 cup mango chutney
1/2 cup chopped chives, green part only
2/3 cup shredded coconut
2/3 cup currants
1/2-3/4 cup chopped salted peanuts

Steps:

  • Mix together curry powder and cream cheese. Pat softened cream cheese mixture into a 3/4-inch thick pancake shape (approximately 8-inch in diameter) onto a serving plate.
  • Spread chutney evenly over the cream cheese. Sprinkle in even layers: chives, currants, coconut, top off with the chopped peanuts.
  • Serve with crackers (Armenian-style is best).

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Mix chutney and cumin until blended. Spoon over cream cheese on baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Bake 15 min.
  • Top with nuts.

4 ounces of imperial sharp cheddar cheese
2 -4 teaspoons curry powder
1/3 cup mango chutney
2 tablespoons coconut
1/2 cup toasted pecans or 1/2 cup almonds
1 1/2 tablespoons currants or 1 1/2 tablespoons dried blueberries
apple, wedges
celery, slices
cracker

Steps:

  • In food processor blend together cream cheese, imperial cheese, and curry powder. Form in a ball on your serving plate and put in fridge for at least an hour, the longer you refrigerate, the more curry flavor you get! Spread chutney on top and sprinkle with the coconut, pecan and currant mixture. serve with apple, celery, crackers and pretzels! Delicious!

1 cup sour cream
1 cup raisins, chopped
1 cup salted peanuts, chopped
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup green onion, chopped
1 tablespoon curry powder (plus 1 tsp.)
1/3 cup flaked coconut
1/3 cup fresh parsley, minced
2 tablespoons chutney (or more to taste)

Steps:

  • Combine cream cheese and sour cream in a large bowl; beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Add raisins and next 4 ingredients, stirring well. Shape mixture into 2 balls. Combine coconut and parsley; roll cheese balls in coconut mixture. cover and chill at least 4 hours. Top each cheese ball with chutney before serving. Serve with crackers.
