I just made this for dinner. I took two recipes to make one. It was mild, really gives you the flavors but not over powering. You can add more wing sauce or hot sauce to make it spicier if you like. Because the kids were eating this too I didn't make it hot (in flavor). I served with a salad. I hit one out of the ball park my son said.

2 -3 cups cooked chicken (I used 6 chicken thighs baked in oven)
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
3 stalks celery, chopped
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
2 1/2 cups 2% low-fat milk
1 1/4 cups chicken stock (I use homemade stock)
6 ounces Velveeta cheese, cubed
3/4 cup buffalo wing sauce (I used Budwiser brand)
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • I used a 5 to 6 quart crockpot.
  • Make a roux with the flour and butter. I use the stove top. But you can use the microwave. Set aside.
  • Chop up the onion and celery, and dump it into your crockpot. Add the cooked chicken. Pour in the chicken broth and milk. Add Velveeta.
  • Stir in the flour and butter mixture. Add hot sauce.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4. The soup is done when the celery and onion reach desired tenderness and the flavors have melded.

I saw this recipe on a parenting forum and modified it. You can sub low fat ingredients, but please don't use fat free. Adjust the hot wing sauce to your liking (heat and amount) I actually add more than 1/2 cup. Enjoy!

1 lb chicken breast, bite size pieces
1 (11 1/2 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup hot sauce (like for buffalo wings)
6 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded (about 1 1/2 cups)
1/2 cup blue cheese, crumbled
1 1/2 cups sour cream
3 cups penne, uncooked

Steps:

  • Season chicken salt and pepper and put it in the crock.
  • Add the chicken soup and hot sauce and stir.
  • Cook on low 4-6 hours or high 2-3.
  • Stir in cheeses and sour cream and turn off the crock pot.
  • Boil pasta according to package instructions, drain well and add to the chicken/sauce mixture.
  • Stir well and serve!

Just a very basic, surprisingly delicious recipe for basic chicken soup made in a crock pot. I even surprised myself!

1 (3 lb) roasting chickens
2 lbs carrots, baby
2 cups celery, with leaves, chopped roughly
2 large onions, chopped roughly
2 bay leaves
0.5 (28 ounce) can chicken broth
1 cup frozen peas (use later in recipe)
1 tablespoon dehydrated dried parsley, approx. 1-Tblsp . (use later with peas)
2 cups cooked rice

Steps:

  • Layer in crock pot in this order:.
  • Starting at bottom:.
  • -Carrotts.
  • -Celery.
  • -Onions.
  • -Bay leaves.
  • -Chicken (whole).
  • -pour in broth till not quite half way up (save the rest for when you get home to add at the end) I kept in fridge but NOT in the can.
  • Put on high for 1-hr. before you leave for work, then LOW until you get home. I had it on low from 8:00am till 5:30pm and it was done perfectly!
  • Remove the chick and de-bone it, put chick back in soup w/rest of canned soup from refrigerator.
  • OH, THEN I ADDED SOME FROZEN PEAS AND DEHYDRATED PARSLEY FLAKES.
  • I had cooked rice but I would never put it into the soup, we just put it in our bowls and added the soup -- perfect and REALLY DELICIOUS!

Wow this is good! Tastes just like buffalo chicken/hot wings in a creamy and filling soup! Fast and simple too! I am not usually a fan of anything with canned cream soups but when I tried this I just had to have the recipe. There are lots of recipes here on Zaar for substitutes for canned cream soup that could be used with great results. I have listed that this makes a gallon, actually it makes just shy of a gallon of soup. From TOH with tweaks from Mama.

Number Of Ingredients 6

6 cups milk
3 (10 1/2 ounce) cans cream of chicken soup (use any flavor creamed soup you like chicken, mushroom, celery, etc I use 2 chicken and 1 celery, us)
3 cups cooked chicken (I use leftover chicken from rotisserie, grilled or baked chicken)
1 cup light sour cream
1/2 cup ranch dressing or 1/2 cup blue cheese dressing
1/2 cup hot sauce, adjust to your taste

Steps:

  • Stove Top: Combine all ingredients in a large pot and cook on stove until hot and flavors have blended. Stir often to dissolve everything and to keep from scorching on the bottom. At least 30 minutes.
  • Crock Pot: Follow same directions above using crock pot. Just put everything in, stir well to combine everything and then cook on low for 4 hours.
  • Adjust hot sauce to your liking and/or serve additional sauce on the side to allow each person to adjust their own bowl.
  • Garnish with an additional dollop of sour cream, ranch or blue cheese dressing/dip and a celery stick. Would also be good with some shredded cheese on top. If you want to stretch it to feed more try serving it over a scoop of white rice.

2 teaspoons chili powder
