Cooking bacon on a rack in the oven is much easier than frying it in a pan. This method raises the meat in the pan so the strips aren't loaded with grease.

1 no sugar bacon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Set cooling racks on top of jelly roll pans and spray lightly with non-stick spray.
  • Arrange the bacon on racks in baking pan. Be careful not to overlap.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes.
  • Transfer cooked slices to paper towels to absorb excess grease.

  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Place bacon on sheet and place in a cold oven.
  • Set the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and cook bacon until crispy, 25 to 30 minutes.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400F. Let oven sit at 400F for 10 minutes.
  • Line two rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper. For crispier bacon, place an oven safe baking rack on top of the parchment paper.
  • Arrange bacon on top and bake until bacon is crisped to your liking, about 15 minutes for regular cut bacon and 22-24 minutes for thick-cut bacon

I always bake bacon in the oven! You just need to plan a bit ahead as the bacon takes longer. With baking, the bacon grease stays nice and clean and you can reuse it to saute vegetables or eggs for extra flavor.

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place bacon slices one next to the other on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Flip bacon slices with kitchen tongs and return to oven. Bake until crispy, 15 to 20 minutes more. Thinner slices will need less time, about 20 minutes total. Drain on a plate lined with paper towels.

8 oz bacon (about 8 strips)
Spices to taste (optional; you can use freshly ground black pepper, smoked paprika, and/or garlic powder)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  • Arrange the bacon slices on the wire rack in a single layer. Instead of using a rack, you can arrange them directly on parchment paper.
  • Spices can be sprinkled on top of the bacon if desired, but this is entirely optional. Normally, I don't.
  • Bake until the bacon is crispy to your liking. I put it in the oven for 20 minutes.
  • If you didn't use a rack, drain the cooked bacon briefly on paper towels before serving.
