This Mediterranean-style Tuna Pasta Salad is a healthy and lighter version of classic pasta salad packed with protein-rich tuna tossed with the best lemon yogurt vinaigrette. This no-mayo tuna pasta salad is an easy make-ahead recipe perfect served as a side dish, easy lunch or dinner.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet, saute tuna in 1 tablespoon oil until fish flakes easily with a fork; cool. , In a jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine the lemon juice, oregano, garlic, salt, pepper and remaining oil; shake well. , Drain pasta and rinse in cold water. , In a large salad bowl, combine the pasta, tuna, cucumber, onion, olives, tomato and feta cheese. I actually despise canned tuna. However, it is so economical that I am constantly searching for recipes that make it tolerable to me. I went back for 3 helpings of this one! It came from Betty Crocker's New Cookbook. Cook time is actually the recommended chill time. Don't forget to plan on time to cook the pasta.

This is an excellent change from the traditional creamy tuna pasta salad. Makes a great main course for a light dinner or lunch, and is also great on a bbq buffet or to take to a potluck. Note that you can prepare the sauce while the pasta is cooking, making this quick too. While it keeps well for a day or two, you can also cut it in half to feed two.

- Put on a large pot of salted water to boil; cook spaghetti until al dente stage; drain well and set aside.
- Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk together oil, garlic, hot pepper flakes and salt and pepper until well combined.
- Stir in tomatoes, roasted peppers (you can substitute raw red bell peppers if you wish, but the taste will be a little different; still good, just different), tuna and olives (I use greek kalamata olives).
- Next, stir in parsley and basil (do not substitute dried) and green onions.
- Add the well-drained spaghetti to bowl and thoroughly combine with sauce.
- Taste; add more salt and pepper if you wish.
- This is best served either warm or at room temperature; if you wish to make it ahead of time, cover well and refrigerate, but bring it back to room temp before you serve it.

- Cook pasta according to package. Rinse with cold water and drain well.
- Meanwhile, combine tuna, celery, and onion in large bowl.
- In smaller mixing bowl, combine mayo, parsley, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and dry mustard.

My own recipe for a delicious, cold salad made with multicolored rotini, canned tuna, onions, celery and carrots. It's wonderful in the summer as a light dinner served with blueberry or pineapple muffins. The secret is to used canned tuna in vegetable oil rather than water--it makes a more moist, delicate salad overall.

- In a large 3 qt pot, mix can of chicken broth with enough water to cook pasta. Add 2 t. salt to pot. Put in package of rotini and follow package directions for MINIMUM cook time. Drain pasta immediately and flush with cold water until all pasta is cool and has stopped cooking entirely. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise with dill, pepper, and lemon juice.
- Add pasta to mayonnaise mixture.
- Drain can of tuna completely and add to pasta.
- Add chopped onions, celery, and carrots.
- Stir well until everything is combined.
- Refrigerate for at least two hours; add salt to taste and stir.

- Bring a large pot of water to a boil along with 1 tablespoon kosher salt. Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain, but do not rinse the pasta.
- While the pasta is cooking, combine the red onion, olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, Za'atar seasoning, salt, and pepper in a medium-size bowl. Stir and let sit while assembling the rest of the salad.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, tuna, olives, tomatoes, and cucumber. Add the onion and all of the juices from the bowl. Stir to coat everything in the dressing.
- Sprinkle generously with parsley and toss again. Top with Feta if desired. Taste the salad and add more salt and pepper as needed. Serve or refrigerate until ready to eat. Enjoy!
