20 oz or choice of cut sirloin steaks
1 tsp blackened steak seasoning
2 tbsp unsalted butter
¼ cup olive oil
½ cup corn kernels
½ cup canned black beans
2 pcs ripe, deseeded, diced heirloom tomatoes
1 medium, diced red onion
¼ cup or sharp cheddar cheese, grated Monterey jack cheese
1 medium, chopped romaine lettuce
½ bunch cilantro
1 cut into strips and deep-fried tortilla
to taste salt and ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the skillet over medium heat.
  • Season the steaks with blackened steak seasoning on both sides.
  • Melt the butter in a pan and add the olive oil. Grill the steaks for 4 minutes on each side. Set aside.
  • Dice the deseeded tomatillos and red onions and combine with your corn kernels and black beans.
  • Add the romaine lettuce and tomatillo mix and drizzle with cilantro ranch dressing.
  • Top the salad with Monterey jack cheese and strips of fried tortilla.
  • Serve with the cut steak topped with chimichurri sauce.

Applebee's Copycat Shrimp and Parmesan Steak Recipe - (4/5) image

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 (10-ounce) sirloin steaks
2 cups heavy cream, 16 ounces
2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped (2 teaspoons dry)
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Salt & pepper, to taste
20 shrimp, tails and shells removed
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • Heat cream in a saucepan and lightly boil until it's half its original volume, being careful not to scorch. Stir in Parmesan cheese, basil, salt and pepper. Lower heat and keep warm while you prepare the steak and shrimp. Season the steak to your preference. Grill either inside or outside, until done to your liking. Heat the butter in a small saute pan. Add the shrimp and salt and pepper to taste. Saute until cooked through, and lightly browned, about 4-6 minutes. Place the grilled steak on the plate, top with the sautéed shrimp and Parmesan sauce.

I have never eaten Applebees Quesadilla burgers but I can say that these burgers are awesome! You can adapt this to make as many burgers as you need. I used a little over a pound of hamburger for 4 burgers and had left over seasoning.

2 (10 inch) flour tortillas
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1/3 cup shredded monterey jack pepper cheese
1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
diced onion
diced canned jalapeno
bacon (cooked and crumbled)
southwest seasoned hamburger (recipe follows)
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 tablespoons paprika
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
crushed red pepper flakes (to taste)
1 teaspoon salt (I didnt measure)
1 tablespoon dried oregano

Steps:

  • For hamburgers:.
  • Combine all seasoning ingredrients. Use one heaping Tblsp of seasoning mix per pound of hamburger meat. Mix into hamburger meat until well combined. Fry or grill. ( I used George Foreman grill).
  • Assembling the complete burger:.
  • Heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Spread butter on one side of each tortilla. Put one tortilla, butter side down in the hot pan. Sprinkle the cheeses evenly onto the center of the tortilla in the pan- but not all the way to the edges. Put the tomato, onion, bacon and jalapeno over the cheese, add the cooked seasoned burger and cover with the other tortilla butter side up (like a grilled cheese sandwhich). When the bottom is browned, about 45-90 seconds, flip the quesadilla and grill the other side. Remove the quesidilla from the pan and using a pizza cutter, cut throught the middle. Serve.
