PERFECT BACON CHEESEBURGERS



Perfect Bacon Cheeseburgers image

3 pounds 80/20 ground beef
1/3 cup heavy cream
6 to 8 dashes hot sauce, such as Tabasco
4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
6 kaiser rolls
Softened butter, for spreading, plus 2 tablespoons
6 slices Cheddar
6 slices cooked bacon, halved

Steps:

  • Place the beef into a medium mixing bowl. Add the cream, hot sauce, Worcestershire, salt and pepper. With clean hands, mix the meat well. Set aside.
  • Next, slice the rolls in half and spread each half with some softened butter. Place the rolls face-down on a skillet over medium heat. Lightly grill the rolls so they're nice and golden. Let the rolls cool on a plate until you need them.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter. Form the beef mixture into 6 patties and place in the skillet, in batches if needed. Allow each to cook about 4 minutes on the first side, flip them and place a slice of Cheddar on to melt.
  • When the patties are done in the middle, place them on the base of the halved buns. Top each with 2 pieces of the bacon and top with the other half of the rolls.

6 roll (blank)s hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • Preheat a grill for high heat.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the Cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, onion, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Crumble in the ground beef, and mix together by hand. Form into 6 patties, and wrap a slice of bacon around each one. Secure bacon with toothpicks.
  • Place patties on the grill, and cook for 5 minutes per side, or until well done. Remove toothpicks before serving on hamburger buns.

24 uncooked lasagna noodles
2 pounds lean ground beef (90% lean)
2 medium onions, chopped
1-1/2 pounds bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
2 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce
2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) diced tomatoes, undrained
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
8 cups shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Cook noodles according to package directions for al dente; drain., In a 6-qt. stockpot, cook beef and onions over medium-high heat until beef is no longer pink, breaking up beef into crumbles, 10-12 minutes; drain. Stir in bacon, tomato sauce, tomatoes, sugar and salt; heat through., Spread 1 cup sauce into each of two greased 13x9-in. baking dishes. Layer each with four noodles, overlapping as needed, 1-2/3 cups sauce and 1-1/3 cups cheese. Repeat layers twice., Bake, covered, 40 minutes. Uncover; bake until bubbly, 5-10 minutes longer. 1/2 cup cola, divided
1/2 cup crushed saltines (about 15)
6 tablespoons French salad dressing, divided

Optional toppings: Lettuce leaves, sliced tomato, sliced red onion, pickles and sliced cheese

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine egg, 1/4 cup cola, cracker crumbs, 2 tablespoons salad dressing, Parmesan cheese and salt. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into six 3/4-in.-thick patties (mixture will be moist). , In a small bowl, combine remaining cola and salad dressing; set aside., Grill burgers, covered, over medium heat for 3 minutes on each side. 4-1/2 to 5 cups all-purpose flour
FILLING:
1 pound sliced bacon, diced
2 pounds ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 pound process cheese (Velveeta), cubed
3 to 4 tablespoons butter, melted
Ketchup or barbecue sauce, optional
Sesame seeds, optional

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add milk, sugar, shortening, eggs, salt and 3-1/2 cups flour; beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough., Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top.
