Cocoa Currant Cocktail Food
COCOA-CURRANT COCKTAIL
Arrows Restaurant in Ogunquit, Me., had a request for a signature wedding cocktail utilizing cocoa powder. The bartender devised one in which gin is shaken with red currant sorbet and cocoa-infused simple syrup, then served in a glass rimmed with cocoa powder. It's a lively, complex drink - a far cry from the weak gin-and-tonics that once defined wedding reception drinking.

Number Of Ingredients 7
Steps:
- Rim a chilled cocktail glass by swabbing the exterior of the rim with a wedge of lemon, then rolling the rim in cocoa powder to coat evenly. Shake off excess.
- Combine liquid ingredients and sorbet in a cocktail shaker with ice, and shake. Strain into the prepared glass, and garnish with the flower.

Steps:
- Rim a cocktail glass with lime, then dip rim in sugar. Muddle cucumber and mint together, and then add liquid ingredients. Shake and strain into glass, filled with ice. Garnish and serve.

Steps:
- Mix the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist.

MULLED MANHATTAN
This classic grape-and-grain mixture came to us from Christopher Tunnah, the general manager and beverage director at the Bedford Post in Bedford, N.Y. It's as jolly and red as a Santa suit, and it derives its Dickensian tang from the nutmeg hints in Angostura bitters and the clove-studded orange flavors of orange bitters. Craving seconds is easy.

- Muddle the orange slice in the bottom of a mixing glass. Fill with ice then add the bourbon, Cointreau and bitters, and stir well. Top with the grape juice, pour into a glass and garnish with the orange twist and cherry.
