CLASSIC MINI CHEESEBURGERS

A quick, innovative cooking technique delivers big cheeseburger taste in fun, bite-size appetizers.

Yield 24 12 servings of 2

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 medium onion (about 1 cup/250 mL finely chopped)
1/4 cup (50 mL) finely chopped fresh parsley
1 1/2 lb (750 g) 90% lean ground beef
2 garlic cloves, pressed
1 tsp (5 mL) salt
6 slices (31 g each) American cheese
8 hot dog buns
24 hamburger dill pickle slices

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450°F. Finely chop onion and parsley using Food Chopper. Combine beef, onion, parsley, garlic pressed with Garlic Press and salt in Classic Batter Bowl; mix well using Small Mix 'N Scraper®. Press beef mixture evenly over bottom of Large Bar Pan. Bake 10-12 minutes or until beef is no longer pink.Meanwhile, on Cutting Board, cut cheese into quarters; set aside. Slice buns apart neatly at seams using Utility Knife (do not separate tops from bottoms). Trim about 1/4 in. from each bun end to square off ends (discard trimmings). Cut buns into thirds for a total of 24 square mini buns; set aside.Remove bar pan from oven. Pour off juices, if necessary, and place on Stackable Cooling Rack. Cut beef mixture into 24 squares using Pizza Cutter. Top each burger with one pickle and one piece of cheese. Place one bun top onto each burger; top with one bun bottom. Cover bar pan with aluminum foil and bake 3-5 minutes or until cheese is melted and buns are warm.To serve, place one burger with bun top onto one bun bottom using Mini-Serving Spatula. Repeat with remaining burgers and bun bottoms. Serve immediately.

1/4 cup finely chopped onions
2 Tbsp. HEINZ Tomato Ketchup
1 Tbsp. HEINZ Yellow Mustard
8 hot dog buns, cut into thirds
6 CLAUSSEN Kosher Dill Sandwich Slices, cut into quarters
6 KRAFT Singles, cut into quarters

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350ºF.
  • Mix first 4 ingredients just until blended.
  • Arrange bottom halves of buns, cut sides up, in 13x9-inch baking pan sprayed with cooking spray. Spoon about 1 Tbsp. meat mixture onto each; flatten with spatula. Top with pickles, Singles pieces and tops of buns; cover.
  • Bake 30 to 35 min. or until meat mixture is done.

3 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 large onions, thinly sliced
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1 pound ground pork
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
10 small rolls, halved lengthwise
10 slices chipotle gouda or pepper jack cheese

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions; cook until soft and golden, about 10 minutes. Raise the heat to medium-high and continue cooking, stirring, until uniformly brown, 5 to 10 more minutes. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
  • Mix the pork, garlic and parsley in a bowl. Season the mixture with salt and pepper and form into 10 small patties, being careful not to pack them too tightly.
  • Heat a grill pan over medium heat; grill the patties until medium-rare, about 4 minutes per side. Place a cheese slice on the bottom half of each roll; top with a burger, some caramelized onions and the roll top.

½ cup ketchup
½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 egg
1 pinch garlic powder
¼ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
¼ cup ketchup

Steps:

  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Mix ground beef, 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/2 cup shredded cheese, egg, and garlic powder in a large bowl. Form mixture into 1 inch balls, and gently press onto prepared baking sheet to form mini-burgers.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes. Spread remaining ketchup on burgers, and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Return burgers to the oven, and bake until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 5 minutes.
