The Best Clam Dip Recipe EVER image

This is my family's signature dip recipe and will make everyone a fan of clams in cream cheese whether they think they like it or not!

Provided by Heidi

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 8- ounce package cream cheese (, at room temperature)
1 6.5- ounce can of minced clams (, drained and juice reserved)
2 green onions (, white and green parts, finely chopped)
1/2 lemon (, juiced)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Tabasco sauce to taste

Steps:

  • In a medium sized bowl, mash softened cream cheese with a fork until soft and creamy. Slowly add in 1 tablespoon of clam juice while mixing with fork and cream well. Add lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Add green onion and clams to mixture. Add a few dashes of Tabasco to taste. If mixture seems thick, add remaining clam juice in one tablespoon increments to desired consistency. Serve with potato chips or refrigerate for up to 2 days.

24 ounces clams (canned)
16 ounces cream cheese
8 ounces sour cream
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice ((or 2 1/2 teaspoons reconstituted))
1/2 teaspoon MSG (Accent flavor seasoning)
fresh chopped parsley
fresh chopped chives

Steps:

  • Drain the clams and reserve 3 tablespoons of the juice. Discard the remaining clam juice.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, salt, lemon juice, reserved clam juice, and MSG.
  • Mix with a mixer until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the clams and stir with a wooden spoon or spatula.
  • Place the dip in an air-tight container in the refrigerator and let it rest for a few hours.
  • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley or chives if desired.

2 (6.5-ounce) cans of clams, drained and minced
1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Dash ground cayenne (or hot sauce )
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • In a medium bowl with an electric mixer, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, and garlic; beat until smooth. Fold in drained minced clams along with remaining seasonings. Transfer dip mixture to a serving bowl or container.
  • Cover container and refrigerate clam dip for about 2 hours, or until it is thoroughly chilled.
  • Serve chilled dip with chips, crackers, or freshly sliced vegetables.
