Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rice Crispy Treats Food

CHOCOLATE PRETZEL RICE KRISPIE TREATS

Steps:

• Prepare a square baking pan, 9 x 9 or 8 x 8, doesn't matter. Glass, Pyrex, metal, all ok. Spray with cooking spray. My cake pan is a nice Sur La Table non-stick pan, and I don't want to cut the treats in the pan and ruin the coating. So I make a "Parchment Belt" to lift the square out when cool. I fold a sheet of parchment paper in the bottom, letting the edges hang over the sides. That way I can lift the block of treats out before cutting.
• In a large microwave safe bowl, heat the margarine and marshmallows, 30 seconds at a time, until they melt. Stir until smooth, heating more as needed to get all the lumps out.
• Add the cereal and pretzels and stir until coated well.
• Allow mixture to cool slightly before adding the chocolate.
• Sprinkle half the chocolate over the marshmallow-cereal mixture, mix quickly so it doesn't melt everywhere, and then dump into the pan. Sprinkle the rest of the chocolate on top and press down into the pan.
• Sprinkle with some flaky salt, cool, cut and serve.

RICE KRISPIES TREATS WITH CHOCOLATE AND PRETZELS

Steps:

• Line the bottom and sides of a 9-inch square baking pan with foil, leaving a 1-inch overhang on all sides, then coat with nonstick cooking spray.
• Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir with a sturdy silicone spatula until smooth and melted, about 3 minutes.
• Remove from the heat, add the cereal and pretzels, and stir until evenly coated. Immediately scrape the mixture into the prepared pan. Using the spatula, press the mixture to evenly cover the bottom of the pan. Working quickly (you want the cereal mixture to still be quite warm so the chocolate will melt a bit and adhere to the the surface), sprinkle the chopped chocolate on top. Press the mixture with the chocolate into a flat, even layer in the pan. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
• Cool to room temperature in the pan on a rack. Lift out of the pan using the foil and cut into squares. Serve immediately or transfer to an airtight container.

CHOCOLATE RICE KRISPIES TREATS

Steps:

• Butter a 9x13x2 inch dish.
• Microwave butter, marshmallows, and chocolate chips on high for 2-3 minutes. Stir.
• Add Rice Krispies. Mix well.
• Spread into dish.
• Chill, then cut into squares.

DECADENT CHOCOLATE COVERED RICE KRISPIE TREATS

Steps:

• For The Rice Krispie Treats: Grease a 13x9x2 pan and set aside. In a large saucepan, melt the butter or margerine over low heat, then add the marshmallows and stir until melted.
• Remove from heat, and using a buttered spatula stir in the cereal until all of it is coated with the marshmallows.
• Press cereal into the greased pan with the spatula. Let cool.
• To Make The Ganache: Using a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate, butter, and salt together, stirring often. Add the milk slowly, using more as necessary to reach a creamy consistency.
• Add the corn syrup slowly while stirring, until you see the chocolate turn glossy.
• Pour chocolate over Rice Krispie Treats and allow to cool for 5 minutes before dotting with candies (I made 5 rows of 10 pieces of candy, which made it easy to cut 50 squares of treats).
• Cool at room temperature, cut into squares, and enjoy!
• *NOTE: You can substitute 4 cups of mini marshmallows for all the marshmallows in the recipe if you prefer.
