- Pulse 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt in a food processor until combined. Pulse in 6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter until pea-size. Pulse in 2/3 cup buttermilk and 2 tablespoons chopped chives. Pat into a 6-inch square on an ungreased baking sheet; score into 12 biscuits. Brush with buttermilk. Bake at 425 degrees F until browned, 25 minutes. Cool slightly; cut into biscuits.
BUTTERMILK-CHIVE BISCUITS
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 425-degrees. In a large bowl or food processor fitted with the metal blade, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- In a small bowl, whisk together buttermilk, chives, and butter. Add mixture to dry ingredients and mix together (with your hands) or pulse in a food processor until a manageable dough forms.Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and knead 1 minute. Roll dough out to 1/2-inch thickness and, using a biscuit cutter or upside-down glass, cut 8 biscuits (about 3 inches in diameter). Transfer biscuits to a baking sheet that has been coated with non-stick spray.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until puffed up and golden. Serve warm.

- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment.

- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat, cook the bacon until crisp and brown. Transfer to paper towels and drain. Chop and set aside.
- Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a large mixing bowl.
- Using a food processor, pastry cutter, or fingertips incorporate the chilled butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Add the Cheddar cheese, fresh chives, and cooked bacon. Mix to distribute the ingredients evenly.
- Add the buttermilk and stir just until moistened. Using 1/2 cup dough for each biscuit and using a cup measure or an ice cream scoop, drop the biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing the mounds about 2-inches apart.
- Bake until the biscuits are golden brown on top, about 15 to 20 minutes or until a tester comes out clean. Serve the biscuits warm with melted butter.
SOUR CREAM CHIVE BISCUITS

- Put the flour, chives, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl and stir to combine. Whisk together the sour cream, evaporated milk and butter in a small mixing bowl. Pour the wet into the dry and mix using a light hand just until combined.
- Lightly flour a bread board, turn the dough out onto the board and knead 6 to 8 times. Pat into a 3/4-inch-thick round. Dip a 2-inch biscuit cutter in flour and cut out rounds from the dough. - MIX dry ingredients in bowl. Crumbling butter into mix. Using your hands, work mixture until it resembles cornmeal. Stir in cheese and chives.

- In large bowl with fork, stir flour, Cheddar cheese, sugar, baking powder, chives, and salt until combined.

- Preheat oven to 450-degrees F.
- In a large bowl combine dry ingredients together (flour - baking soda).
- Cut in butter using two knives or a pastry cutter until mixture is about the size of peas.
- Stir in buttermilk, cheese and chives, stirring with a fork to form a loose dough.
- Turn dough out onto a floured board, kneading dough a few times (about 10) and then pat into a 6-inch x 9-inch rectangle; fold into thirds like a letter and then pat into a 6 x 9 inch rectangle again.
- Dip edges of 3-inch biscuit cutter into flour (I used a coffee mug) and cut out 6 biscuits; transferring biscuits to a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with Pam or lined with parchment paper. Form and cut dough for another biscuit or two (I ended up whit 7 biscuits).
- Brush tops of biscuits with cream.
- Bake for 14-16 minutes or until biscuits are browned.
