Simple mango margaritas with orange, lime, agave, and silver tequila! Cold, sweet, tangy, and subtly spiced. Perfect for Mexican food and warm weather!

1 ripe mango ((cubed // 1 mango yields ~1 cup or 157 g)*)
1 cup orange juice
2 small limes ((juiced // ~1 ounce))
2.5 -3 ounces silver tequila ((depending on preferred strength of drink))
1 ounce triple sec or orange liqueur
1 dash hot sauce ((optional))
1-3 Tbsp agave nectar or maple syrup ((depending on sweetness of mango))
1 lime wedge for rimming
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp sea salt

Steps:

  • Add all margarita ingredients to a blender and blend until creamy and smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness / strength of alcohol as desired.
  • To chill, either blend in a large handful of ice cubes to make a frozen margarita or transfer half of the mixture to a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice and shake vigorously.
  • Rim serving glasses with a lime wedge and immediately dip in salt/chili powder mixture (or sub just salt or sugar), and fill with 1 large ice cube or several small. Pour over margarita and garnish with lime wedge.

6 oz (3/4 c) Silver Tequila
6 oz (3/4 c) lime juice
2 oz (1/4 c) Triple Sec
2 inches jalapeno, (sliced)
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp sugar
1/8 tsp chili powder
Crushed ice ((to serve))

Steps:

  • Combine tequila, lime juice, and Triple Sec in a tall glass or drink shaker. Add jalapeno slices and muddle well with a wooden spoon or rubber-tipped muddler, crushing the jalapenos to release their juice.
  • On a plate, combine salt, sugar, and chili powder.
  • Moisten the rim of your glasses with some lime juice (or the juice from a slice of jalapeno!) and dip the glass rim in the salt mixture. Fill the glass halfway with crushed ice, and pour the margarita mixture over the ice.
  • If desired, garnish the glass with a slice of jalapeno.

4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp cayenne powder
Lime wedge
1 1/2 cups silver tequila
3 serrano chile peppers, sliced in half lengthwise
2 fresno chile peppers, sliced in half lengthwise
1 1/2 oz pepper infused tequila
Juice from 1/2 lime
1 oz Cointreau
3/4 oz agave
Ice

Steps:

  • Combine tequila and peppers in an airtight container. Allow the tequila to infuse for at least 5 to 8 hours (or more if you want it H-O-T).
  • When ready to make the margarita, stir together ingredients for chili salt in a small bowl. Rub a margarita or cocktail glass with the lime wedge, then rim with chili salt.
  • In a shaker filled with ice, combine chile infused tequila, lime juice, triple sec and agave. Shake vigorously.
  • Fill rimmed glass with ice. Strain margarita into the glass and serve.

Chile-Lime Rub, recipe follows, for the rim
2 ounces tequila, preferably blanco
1 1/2 ounces fresh lime juice
1 ounce poblano liqueur, preferably Rancho Reyes Verde
1 ounce triple sec
1 tablespoon chile powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
1/4 teaspoon sugar
Zest of 1 lime

Steps:

  • Run the edge of a rock glass with lime, then dip in a shallow dish of Chile-Lime Rub. Fill the glass with ice.
  • To a cocktail shaker with ice, add the tequila, lime juice, poblano liqueur and triple sec. Shake well. Pour into the glass and garnish with a lime wedge.
  • Mix together the chile powder, salt, cumin, cayenne, coriander, sugar and lime zest in a shallow dish.

1 tablespoon sugar

Steps:

  • Combine first 4 ingredients in a 4-cup measuring cup.
  • FOR BLENDED MARGARITAS: Fill blender halfway with ice cubes.
  • Add half of margarita mixture.
  • Blend until mixture is thick and icy.
  • Divide between two glasses.
  • Repeat with more ice cubes and remaining margarita mixture.
  • FOR MARGARITAS ON THE ROCKS: Fill four glasses with ice cubes.
  • Divide margarita mixture among glasses and serve.
  • DO-AHEAD TIP: Margarita mixture can be made up to 8 hours ahead and prior to being blended with ice.
  • Cover and refrigerate.

  • Cut limes into quarters; remove and discard the center part of the rinds. Transfer lime quarters to a blender with water, tequila, sugar, orange liqueur, and salt. Blend until completely smooth, about 1 minute.

Steps:

  • Moisten rim of 1 cocktail glass with lime wedge.
