EASY CHEESY GARLIC BREAD
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut your French bread loaf lengthwise and place on top of a baking sheet.
- In a small bowl combine softened butter, garlic powder, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Spread evenly on each side of the garlic bread. Top with Colby Jack and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes until butter is melted an bubbly. You can also broil the top for 1-2 minutes at the end to give it a more crisp top.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired.

- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Add 2 cups flour, sugar, salt, garlic salt, and cheese. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. , Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide in half. Shape each half into a 14-in. loaf. Place on a greased baking sheet that has been sprinkled with cornmeal. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 45 minutes. , Brush loaves with water. Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375*.
- Cut bread at 1 inch intervals, but don't cut all the way through; just carefully cut down to the bottom crust and stop.
- Mix together butter, garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- Separating gently, spread some of the butter mixture on both sides of each slice of bread.
- Stuff some cheese down in between slices, but try to do it evenly, not all stuffed down into the bottom or all at the top.
- Wrap loaf in foil and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted all the way through.
CHEESY ITALIAN BREAD
This is more like a version of garlic bread or cheese bread. It's actually something I learned to make from my partner. It goes great with Italian dishes or creamy casseroles. For the bread, I'd suggest a crunchy type of bread, like French bread or a baguette. For the dressing, I use Kraft Fat-Free Zesty Italian dressing. Any type of Italian dressing would work.

- Slice the bread into thick slices (about 1/2 inch thick).
- Place on baking sheet. Put about a tsp or so of Italian dressing on each slice and spread it around. Let it soak in a little bit.

- Measure the flour, yeast and salt into a large bowl. Mix 300ml hand-hot water with the oil and honey in a jug, then pour into the dry mix, stirring all the time to make a soft dough.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface, then knead for 5 mins until the dough no longer feels sticky, sprinkling with a little more flour as you need it. Now stretch it to fit the Swiss roll tin.
- Mix the garlic with the butter, then dot over the dough. Sprinkle over the cheese and snip over the thyme. Cover the bread with lightly oiled cling film, then leave in a warm place to rise for 40 mins.
- Heat oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Remove the cling film, then bake the bread for 30 mins until golden and risen. Leave to cool for 10 mins, then cut into 12 pieces and serve.

An easy, tasty, flavorful bread that is started in the bread machine. You may substitute any grated cheese you may have on hand. Flour I feel should always be measured by weight. 500 g of bread flour is 17.637 oz. If you do not have a scale, it is about 4 - 4 1/2 cups of flour. (But you should really get a scale!)

- Add the water, oil, bread flour, salt, yeast and Italian seasonings into the bread machine in the order specified by your manufacturer. Set and run it on the dough cycle.
- Very, very finely mince the garlic. You may add some olive oil to the garlic to make it more spreadable after it is minced.
- Divide the dough into two equal sized balls and place each one on a well oiled baking tray. Stretch them out into a rectangle shape.
- Spread half the garlic, Parmesan, and mozzarella cheese on each dough rectangle. Roll the dough up and tuck the ends under to make sure the ends are sealed. Gently shape into a loaf shape. Loosely cover and let rise until nearly doubled in size, 20 - 40 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Make three diagonal slices on the top of each loaf. Be sure that the slice is deep enough to reach the first cheese layer.
- Bake the loaves for 12 -16 minutes, until the crust is a light golden brown and the cheese is slightly browned.
- Place loaves on wire racks to cool.
