CHEESY BACON TWISTS RECIPE BY TASTY
Here's what you need: puff pastry, egg, paprika, cheddar cheese, rashers streaky bacons, brown sugar, fresh rosemary

Steps:
- Roll out the pastry and brush with the beaten egg.
- Sprinkle on the paprika and cheese evenly, then sprinkle flour on a rolling pin and flatten down.
- Cut into ½ inch (1 ¼ cm) wide strips, then fold in half and pinch the ends together. Gently twist pastry.
- Wrap bacon around the twists.
- Sprinkle on brown sugar and minced rosemary.
- Bake at 350°F (190°C) for 45-50 minutes, turning halfway through to make sure they are golden brown all over.

CHEESY BACON TWISTS

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C)
- Use a deep pan, lined with foil, and a wire rack insert on top
- Grease wire rack well with cooking spray
- In a pie dish, mix brown sugar, rosemary, salt and pepper -set aside
- On a cutting board, place your three puff pastry sheets down. I bought pre-made fresh puff pastry that came in little 5x6ish squares.
- Beat your egg in a little saucer and with a brush, coat the top of your three puff pastry sheets
- Sprinkle your grated cheese of choice, on top and lightly press your cheese into the puff pastry with your hand. (not too hard, just enough to stick)
- Using a pizza cutter, cut 1/2 inch strips
- Cut your streaky bacon down the middle with scissors
- Lay one strip of bacon on top of one strip of your cheesy puff pastry, twist gently
- Roll your twist in your brown sugar coating, make sure it's completely covered
- Set on top of wire rack inside your pan
- Repeat until all twists are coated
- Bake for 20-30 minutes (oven times vary, make sure it doesn't burn)
CHEESY BACON STRAWS

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and fit a baking sheet with a wire rack.
- In a small saucepot, mix the maple syrup, red pepper flakes, orange juice and 1/4 cup water. Bring to a boil, then remove from the heat.
- Line up the bacon slices on the wire rack and brush with the hot maple syrup mixture. Sprinkle some cheese on each piece of bacon. With a skewer in hand, fold the end of a piece of bacon in half lengthwise and press the skewer through the end. Do this to 4 pieces of bacon, spreading them out evenly across the skewer, and place the skewer on the baking sheet. Twist the bacon pieces into long spirals so as to create straws. Take another skewer and skewer the bottom of each piece of bacon to keep the bacon twisted. Do this to all the bacon.
- Bake until the bacon browns, about 35 minutes. Let cool slightly on the rack; the bacon will get crunchy as it sits. Serve immediately.

- Cook bacon in large nonstick skillet until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet; drain on paper towels. Discard all but 2 tsp. drippings from skillet.
- Add 1 tsp. of the reserved drippings to medium saucepan. Stir in onions; cook on medium heat 5 to 6 min. or until crisp-tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in 1 cup chopped tomatoes; cook 3 min., stirring occasionally. Add peppers and 1/2 cup broth; stir. Bring to boil; simmer on medium-low heat 10 min., stirring occasionally.
- Spoon cooked vegetable mixture into blender; blend until smooth. Return to saucepan; stir in remaining tomatoes and 2 Tbsp. half-and-half. Remove from heat.
- Bring remaining broth to boil in separate saucepan. Stir in grits; simmer on medium-low heat 5 min., stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
- Crumble bacon. Add to grits along with the VELVEETA and remaining half-and-half; stir until VELVEETA is completely melted. Spoon into serving bowl; cover to keep warm.
- Add shrimp to remaining reserved bacon drippings in skillet; cook on medium heat 4 to 5 min. or until shrimp turn pink, turning after 3 min. Stir in vegetable mixture; simmer 2 to 3 min. or until heated through, stirring occasionally. Serve over grits.
