This is a delicious patty that can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, or snack. I got this from a friend of mine and it's so delicious and easy to make that I make it very often.

Yield 16-18 patties

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb farmer cheese
3 eggs
3/4 cup flour
1/2-3/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
3 tablespoons sour cream
2 tablespoons vanilla sugar

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together. If the mixture is too loose, add more flour.
  • Drop by tablespoon into hot oil and fry on both sides until golden brown.
  • Remove from oil and it's ready to serve. you can serve it with sour cream or jam. I prefer it eaten as is.

Ok, ok...I know this sounds completely strange, but these little guys are really good. This is a recipe from my m-i-l. It's something that she makes for her church. Give it a whirl if you're bored. I serve it with a side of bacon lentils (oh yes, even lentils are great as long as there's some bacon in it!) I'll post that recipe later on.

72 ritz whole wheat crackers (2 sleeves crushed)
1 cup cottage cheese
1 tablespoon rubbed sage
2 eggs
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
salt and pepper
4 tablespoons oil (for frying)

Steps:

  • Dump everything in a bowl (except the oil). Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Preheat a skillet over med. heat.
  • Create little patties by hand just as you would normally with anything else.
  • Fry them in the skillet until golden brown and heated through.
  • These freeze well too I'm told.
  • My husband's grandmother serves some sort of mushroom gravy on these, but I've never tried it so I can't really say if that's the bee's knees or not:).

Steps:

  • .cut cauliflower into florets cook in boiling water for 10 minutes drain and mash stir in eggs cheese panko and cayenne add salt to taste coat grill pan with olive oil heat on medium heat form cauliflower into patties cook until golden brown about 3 minutes per side makes 8 patties.

This is a great basic recipe for zucchini patties. We love them just like this but you can adjust to your taste by adding garlic, chili powder or even grated carrots. We love dipping them in sour cream too. ENJOY!

1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • Mix the first 5 ingredients together.
  • Next, mix in the shredded zucchini.
  • Drop by spoonful into butter or cooking oil.
  • Fry until golden brown on both sides.

I love Recipe #137575 and I really love ham and cheese sandwiches, so I thought why not try to combine the two. This is what I came up with. Thank you Chef Dari Donovan for inspiring me. Submitted on June 13th, 2006.

2 cups cooked ham, shredded and chopped fine
1/3 cup finely chopped white onion
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 large egg, slightly beaten
1/4 cup self-rising flour
1/4 cup cornmeal (I like to use yellow)
1/8 cup mayonnaise
oil (for frying)

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients except oil, in a medium sized bowl (mixture will be stiff).
  • Heat oil over medium heat, in a non-stick skillet large enough to fry all patties at one time (may do 2 patties at a time to turn more easily).
  • While oil is heating, form mixture into 4 patties.
  • Fry until golden brown, about 6 minutes on each side.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

These are perfect for family breakfast or a formal brunch. After you have mixed them you can refrigerate them overnight and form them the next day and fry them up before serving.

1/4 cup brandy or 1/4 cup water
1/3 cup raisins
1 lb farmer cheese, this is a dry cheese (do not substitute pressed cottage cheese)
2 large egg yolks, beaten
1 1/2 tablespoons sour cream
1/3 cup all-purpose flour, plus
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, for dusting the patties
2 tablespoons uncooked cream of wheat (not instant)
3 tablespoons sugar (to taste)
1 tablespoon vanilla sugar or 1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons unsalted butter

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, bring the brandy or water to a boil. Take brandy or water off the heat and add the raisins and soak for 30 minutes. Drain and dry with paper towels. Set aside.
  • Press the farmer's cheese through a fine sieve. Combine it in a large bowl with the dried raisins, egg yolks, sour cream, 1/3 cup flour, cream of wheat, sugar, and vanilla sugar. Mix thoroughly and add salt. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Form the cheese mixture into twelve round flat patties about 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Dust the patties on both sides with the 1 Tablespoon flour.
  • Melt the butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add as many patties as will comfortably fit and fry until deep golden on both sides.
  • Repeat with the remaining patties. Serve at once. Serves 4-6.
  • NOTE: Pot cheese is a medium dry cottage cheese, also known as pressed cottage cheese. If drained until dry and crumbly, it becomes farmer's cheese. Both pot cheese and farmer's cheese can be found in Eastern European grocery stores and cheese shops; many supermarkets also stock farmer's cheese.
  • VANILLA SUGAR: Bury a large vanilla bean in a 2 to 3 pound container of sugar and store for at least 1 week before using.

3 tablespoons mayonnaise

Steps:

  • Combine chicken, cheese, egg, mayo cayenne, salt& pepper; mix well.
  • Shape into 6 patties; coat both sides with bread crumbs.

  • Serve on buns with additional cheese and tomato slices if desired.
