2 lbs browned & drained pork sausage (I use 1 hot & 1 mild)
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded American cheese (sometimes I use mild cheddar)
1 (3 ounce) can mushroom pieces, do not drain
1 (2 ounce) jar chopped pimiento, drained
2 cups cooked wild rice
2 cups cooked white rice

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together in a 9 X 13 pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with shredded cheese as soon as comes out of oven.
  • This is good served with a salad and French bread.

1 lb bulk pork sausage
1 (8 ounce) package sliced mushrooms
2 stalks celery, coarsely chopped (about 1 cup)
1 large red pepper, coarsely chopped (about 1 cup)
1 large onion, coarsely chopped (about 1 cup)
1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram, crushed
1 (6 ounce) box seasoned long grain and wild rice blend
1 3/4 cups swanson chicken stock
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup (Regular or 98% Fat Free)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (about 4 ounces)

Steps:

  • Cook the sausage in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until it's well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat.
  • Add the mushrooms, celery, pepper, onion, thyme, marjoram and seasoning packet from the rice blend to the skillet and cook until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  • Stir the sausage mixture, stock, soup, rice blend and 1/2 cup cheese in a 3-quart shallow baking dish. Cover the baking dish.
  • Bake at 375°F for 1 hour or until the sausage is cooked through and the rice is tender. Stir the sausage mixture before serving. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
  • Tip: For an extra-special touch, substitute 1 package (8 ounces) baby portobello mushrooms, sliced, for the sliced mushrooms.

1 lb jimmy dean regular pork sausage
1 large onion, diced
3 sweet mini bell peppers or 1 bell pepper, diced
1/2-1 cup celery, chopped
1 cup fresh corn kernel (can substitute frozen or canned, I cut mine right off the cob)
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of celery soup (can substitute any cream soup you have on hand)
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package jimmy dean peppered gravy mix
1 cup jasmine rice (can substitute long-grain white rice or Basmati rice, use whatever rice you have on hand)
1 cup 1% low-fat milk
1 cup water
nonstick cooking spray (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350*F.
  • Over medium heat, cook sausage with onion, peppers, celery and corn until cooked through in a large frying pan.
  • Add remaining ingredients, mix well.
  • Pour into 9x12" baking dish (I sprayed mined with non-stick cooking spray).
  • Bake 45 minutes to an hour or until rice is done.

This is my favorite casserole! It features pork sausage, rice, chicken noodle soup mix and various vegetables. I grew up loving this and now I make it for my husband, who loves it as much as me if not more.

1 pound pork sausage, sliced
½ onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
½ cup uncooked long grain white rice
1 (4.5 ounce) package chicken noodle soup mix
2 cups hot water
½ cup slivered almonds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large skillet over medium high heat, combine the sausage, onion, celery and green bell pepper and saute for 5 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir the dry rice in with the sausage and vegetables, then add the water and the soup mix. Transfer this mixture to a lightly greased 2 quart casserole dish and top with the almonds.
  • Bake, covered, at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 90 minutes.

There are many of these with the same name but this one is unique. A great recipe and you get TWO DINNERS OUT OF THIS 1 RECIPE. Perfect for making one and taking one to another family. Or making one and freezing one. Freezing directions below. Or if you have 12-16 people to feed. My guests and family loved this. I served it with crusty bread. A total kid pleaser also. You can add more seasonings if you wish but perfect for a cozy dinner at home. This came from Jennifer Trost a Taste of Home reader and was in a cook booklet Dinners on a Dime 2010. Enjoy CHefDLH.

2 (7 1/4 ounce) packages rice, pilaf
2 lbs bulk pork sausage
6 celery ribs, chopped
4 medium carrots, sliced
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
2 teaspoons onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Prepare rice mixes according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook the sausage, celery and carrots over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sausage mixture, rice, soups, onion powder, garlic powder and pepper. Transfer to two greased 11-in. x 7-in. baking dishes.
  • Cover and freeze one casserole for up to 3 months. Cover and bake the remaining casserole at 350° for 40-45 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
  • To use frozen casserole: Thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake as directed. Yield: 2 casseroles (6-8 servings each).

1 cup celery
1/2 cup onion
1/2 cup bell pepper
1/4 cup pimiento
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 1/4 cups milk
1/2 cup long grain rice
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • .Brown sausage with celery, onion & bell pepper. Mix pimentos, cream of mushroom soup milk and rice in baking dish. Add sausage mixture and blend together. bake covered @ 325 for 50 minutes. Uncover and cook 20 minutes longer. Stir a couple of times while cooking.

1 cup onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 cup celery, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 cup rice, uncooked and washed
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of chicken soup

Steps:

  • Preheat oven at 350°.
  • Brown sausage in frying pan and pour off grease.
  • Add chopped onion, garlic, celery, and green pepper to sausage and simmer until tender.
  • In bowl combine rice and soups and then add cooked ingredients.
  • Pour into greased Pyrex pan.
  • Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350°, stirring occasionally.
