Apple Pie 1 prepared -inch pie shell, uncooked
1 3/4 cups pecan pieces
4 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup Steen's 100 percent Pure Cane Syrup
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
1/2 stick butter, softened
1 tablespoon flour
2 scoops Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
1 cup chocolate sauce in squeeze bottle
Whipped cream in pastry bag
Fresh mint sprigs
Powdered sugar in shaker

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Spread the pecans evenly on the bottom of the pie shell. In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs, sugar, brown sugar, cane syrup, vanilla, salt, butter, and flour, together. Mix well. Pour the mixture over the pecans. Bake for about 1 hour, or until the filling sets. Remove the pie from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Place a piece of the pie in the center of the plate. Garnish with ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, mint sprigs, and powdered sugar.

1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1-1/2 cups pecan halves
1 frozen deep-dish pie crust (9 inch), thawed
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Steps:

  • Bring syrup, sugar and butter to boil in medium saucepan on medium heat; simmer on medium-low heat 5 min., stirring occasionally. Cool slightly.
  • Heat oven to 375°F. Place nuts in pie crust. Whisk eggs and vanilla in medium bowl until blended. Gradually stir in syrup mixture; pour over nuts in crust.
  • Bake 35 to 40 min. or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool.

one 9-inch pie shell
1/3 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup pure cane syrup
1 cup brown sugar
3 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 tablespoons rum or bourbon
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup pecan halves

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 450°F. Bake the pie shell for 5 minutes. Set aside. Decrease the oven temperature to 375°F.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, salt, cane syrup, and brown sugar, stirring together until smooth, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a mixer bowl and allow to cool thoroughly (so the eggs don't cook in the next step). Add the eggs, vanilla, and rum and beat for 10 minutes at medium-high until fluffy smooth. Add the chopped pecans and pulse a few times until well mixed. Pour the filling into the pie shell and arrange the pecan halves over the top.
  • Bake for 50 minutes. Cool on a pie rack until well set before slicing.

  • Combine eggs, maple syrup, brown sugar, butter, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Blend well. Stir in pecans. Pour batter into the pie shell.

1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup Karo syrup
1/4 cup louisiana cane syrup
1 tablespoon vanilla
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup fig preserves (figs chopped if whole)
1 pinch cinnamon
1 pinch nutmeg
9 inches pie shells, uncooked

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • In large bowl combine sugar and corn starch. Add syrups, vanilla, eggs. Use wire whisk and blend thoroughly.
  • Add nuts and preserves stirring into mixture. Season with cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Pour into pie shell and bake on center rack for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 375 degrees and bake for 35 minutes. Remove and allow to cool.
