Number Of Ingredients 14

1 tablespoon mild paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon chili powder, (add more if you like heat)
3/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon brown sugar (KETO: use brown sugar substitute)
1/2-3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, (add more if you like heat)
1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper (to taste)
23 oz (650 g) steak, cut into 2-inch cubes ((Sirloin, Rump, New York Strip, Porterhouse or Ribeye))
1-2 tablespoons canola oil, (divided)
1/4 cup butter
4 cloves garlic (finely chopped)

Steps:

  • Combine cajun seasoning in a shallow bowl. Add the steak bites and toss to evenly coat.
  • Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a skillet or pan over medium-high heat until hot.
  • Sear the steak bites in batches for 2-3 minutes each side until edges are crispy and browned, adding extra oil as needed. Set aside.
  • Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet and heat until melted. Sauté the chopped garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds), while scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  • Take the pan off the heat. Throw the steak bites back in and toss through the garlic butter to evenly coat.

Provided by Esther Clark

Categories     Dinner, Main course, Supper

Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 10

430g Maris Piper potatoes , cut into 1.5cm chunks
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
2 tbsp olive oil
1 x 400g bavette steak
¼ small bunch of coriander , finely chopped
¼ small red cabbage , shredded
½ red onion , finely sliced
2 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp soured cream
½ tbsp chipotle chilli paste

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7. Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil, add the potatoes and cook for 5 mins. Drain and leave to steam-dry in the colander for a few minutes. Toss the potatoes with the Cajun seasoning, half the oil and a good pinch of salt. Tip onto a baking tray and roast for 25-30 mins or until golden and crisp, tossing halfway through.
  • To make the slaw, combine the cabbage, onion, mayonnaise, soured cream and chipotle paste in a bowl until the cabbage and onion are well coated. Set aside.

Delicious sirloin steaks with spicy butter.

Categories     Main meal

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 14

30 g unsalted butter, softened
1 garlic clove, crushed
½ tsp clear honey
½ tsp Bart Cajun
2 tsp olive oil
2 corn on the cob
Pinch salt
½ pointed spring cabbage, shredded
2 salad onions, finely sliced
1 red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
1 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp Greek natural strained yogurt
½ lime, zest and juice
2 x 150g sirloin steaks, trimmed of excess fat

Steps:

  • Mix the butter, garlic, ¼ tsp honey and the Cajun spice mix until combined, then put on a piece of baking parchment and roll into a cylinder. Chill until ready to use.
  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a large frying pan over a medium-high heat. Cut the kernels from the corn and fry with the salt for 6-8 minutes until golden. Tip into a large bowl with the cabbage, salad onions and chilli. Mix the mayonnaise, yogurt, lime zest and juice and the remaining ¼ tsp honey, then toss through the vegetables to make a slaw.
  • Heat the remaining 1 tsp oil in the same large frying pan over a high heat. Season the steaks and fry on each side for 2 minutes for medium-rare. Put on plates and immediately top with the Cajun butter (put 1/2 on each steak). Allow to sit for a minute, loosely covered with foil so that the meat rests and the butter melts, then serve with the slaw. Enjoy with some baked sweet potato wedges, if liked.

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Time 35m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons packed light brown sugar
1 large pork tenderloin (about 1 1/2 pounds)
Kosher salt
2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 cup mayonnaise
