EASY BUTTERY GARLIC BREAD
For the best garlic bread, use softened butter and a generous amount of fresh garlic. We bake the bread wrapped in foil and turn the bread once during baking so that the bottom crust of the loaf does become too hard.

Steps:
- Set the oven rack to the center position. Heat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Combine the softened butter, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Use a fork to mix the ingredients together.
- Slice the loaf of bread in half, lengthwise. Face the bread halves cut-side-up, and then divide the garlic butter mixture between each half. Spread into an even layer all the way to the edges. Put the bread halves back together and wrap with foil.
- Place the wrapped garlic bread onto a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Flip the bread and bake another 5 to 10 minutes or until the butter has melted into the middle of the loaf.
- Unwrap the foil then position the bread halves so that the cut-side is facing up. Scatter cheese over the bread then bake, uncovered, until the cheese melts and the edges of the bread crisp up a little, about 5 minutes.
- Slice the bread and serve warm. Keep garlic bread warm by wrapping in foil. Or wrap in foil and keep in a warm oven (170 to 200 degrees F).

Steps:
- Combine garlic, butter, and oil in a microwave safe dish or in a small saucepan. Heat garlic and butter and oil in microwave for 1 minute or in a small pot over moderate-low heat for 3 minutes.
- Toast split bread under broiler. Remove bread when it is toasted golden brown in color. Brush bread liberally with garlic oil. Sprinkle with cheese, if using, and parsley. If you added cheese, return to broiler and brown 30 seconds. Cut into chunks and serve.
BUTTERY GARLIC BREAD RECIPE
Inspired by Italian-American red-sauce restaurants, this classic garlic bread starts with a rich garlic butter. The proportions below yield enough to spread on a 1-pound Italian loaf, but you can use a smaller loaf and reserve the remaining garlic butter for future use.

Yield Makes about ⅔ cup garlic butter, enough for 1 large loaf

Steps:
- Heat the oven or toaster oven to 425 degrees. Place the butter in a small bowl.
- Pour the oil into a small skillet. Using a Microplane zester, grate the garlic directly into the oil. Or use a garlic press to crush the garlic into the oil or very finely mince the garlic and add to the oil. Set over medium heat and cook, stirring, until sizzling, then add ½ teaspoon kosher salt if using salted butter or ¾ teaspoon if using unsalted. Continue cooking, stirring often, until fragrant and golden, 1 to 2 minutes; do not let the garlic brown. Immediately scrape the garlic and oil over the butter in the bowl.
- Smash the garlic oil into the butter with a wooden spoon until well mixed. It's OK if there are still bits of unmelted butter.
- Cut the loaf of bread through its equator from end to end as if splitting it open for a sandwich. Slather the garlic butter all over the cut sides and place on a baking sheet cut sides up.
- Bake until the tops are golden and the bottoms are browned and crisp, 10 to 15 minutes. Cut into strips if desired and serve hot.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Slice loaf of French bread in half lengthwise.
- Stir together softened butter, sea salt, minced garlic, and parsley.
- Use a spatula to spread half of the butter mixture onto the bread loaf. Place the two halves of the bread together. Wrap tightly with aluminum foil and place in the oven to bake for 30 minutes.
- While the bread is heating, melt the remaining butter mixture in a small saucepan until the garlic is fragrant about 2 to 3 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, unwrap the bread to make sure the butter is melted and the bread is hot all the way through. TIP: If you'd like to crisp or toast the top of the bread a bit, place the two halves face up on a baking sheet. Broil for 2 to 3 minutes or until toasted.
- Brush or drizzle melted butter mixture over the toasted bread for extra garlic butter.
- Sprinkle additional minced parsley over the bread if desired.

Steps:
- Combine together the water, sugar and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes or until the mixture begins to bubble on top
- Add in the milk, yogurt, oil, minced garlic, flour baking powder and salt. Mix until the dough comes together with your hands.
- Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface. Use floured hands to knead the dough until smooth, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Lightly grease the same mixing bowl with a small spray of cooking oil. Transfer dough to the bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let rest at room temperature for about an hour until doubled in size.
- When ready to cook, divide the dough into 10 equal pieces. Roll into balls, then use a rolling pin to roll each piece of dough into a large oval, about 6-inches long and 1/8-inch thick. Repeat with remaining dough.
- Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Grease skillet all over with 1/2 teaspoon of the extra oil.
- Place one piece of the naan on the oiled hot skillet and cook until bubbles form on top, about 1-2 minutes. While cooking, brush the top with a little oil.
- Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until large golden spots appear on the bottom.
- Remove from the skillet and wrap in a clean kitchen towel. Repeat with the remaining naan (keep them wrapped in a towel while you work).
- Combine melted butter and minced garlic together in a bowl. Brush each naan with the garlic butter and top with the fresh herb of your choosing.

THE BEST GARLIC BREAD
We went very classic with this garlic bread recipe-lots of butter and lots of garlic loaded onto warm, soft and pillowy French bread. You could make a light meal by rounding it out with a crisp green salad. Or serve it our favorite way-alongside your favorite red-sauce pasta.

Steps:
- Arrange a rack in the center of oven and preheat to 450 degrees F.
- Melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until the butter is golden and the garlic is very fragrant, about 3 minutes.
- Slice the bread in half lengthwise. Liberally brush the crust with the garlic butter. Turn the bread cut-side up. Slice each loaf crosswise at 2-inch intervals without cutting all the way through, making "pull-apart" garlic bread. Liberally brush the cut sides of the bread with more garlic butter, spreading any remaining garlic evenly over top. You should use all the garlic butter. Carefully transfer the bread to a rimmed baking sheet.
- Sprinkle the loaves with the Parmesan and a pinch of salt and bake until the edges of the bread are a deep golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes. Top with the parsley. Serve warm.
GARLIC BREAD
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400° F.
- Slice French bread in half lengthwise. Then, without cutting all the way through the bottom crust of the bread, cut the loaves partway into slices that can be pulled apart after baking. Place bread on a large baking sheet, cut side up, and set aside.
- Place the softened butter in a medium bowl. If the butter is not very soft, you can heat it in the microwave for a few seconds to soften it more, but do not melt it.
- Add the minced garlic, salt and Parmesan cheese to the bowl with the softened butter. Stir together until very well combined.
- Spread the garlic butter over the top of the bread.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8 minutes. Then, broil for 1-2 minutes, until the edges are golden brown. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and serve.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Peel the outer layers of the whole head of garlic. Making sure to leave the garlic cloves intact.
- Use a sharp knife and cut the top 1/4 of the head of garlic. You want to be able to expose the garlic. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 40 minutes. Set aside to cool.
- Once the garlic is cool enough to handle, squeeze in a large mixing bowl. Add room temperature butter, parsley, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Mix until smooth.
- Make 1/2 inch wide cuts in your bread. Make sure to cut about 90% of the way down, leaving the bottom of the bread connected. Spread compound butter in between the slices, and across the top of the crust. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the bread and cover with aluminum foil.
- Set your oven to 400 degrees F and bake the loaf for 35-40 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and serve warm. You can cut through the bottom of the bread with a knife or pull off a slice with your hands!
