BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE
Now that I've retired from teaching, I have more time to bake. This buttermilk pound cake is the one I make most often. It is a truly southern recipe, and one I think can't be topped-once people taste it, they won't go back to their other recipes with buttermilk. -Gracie Hanchey, De Ridder, Louisiana

MOIST DATE CAKE
This cake becomes more moist each day that it is covered. This recipe was my Grandmother's and we always had this cake at Christmas. I know the recipe is at least 60 years old.

EASY DATE CAKE
This recipe came off the package of dates from Francies Dates, Phoenix, AZ. Flavor is enhanced if cake is aged for a day or so. A nice moist date which can be served with whipped cream sprinkled with chopped nut, or dusted with powdered sugar or with ice cream or cake au lait. Enjoy!

BUTTERMILK DATE CAKE
My mother used to call this inch cake since it is so rich, you could only eat a inch at a time! Moist, rich, luscious! Perfect to take to a casual affair since it is left in the dish it is cooked in. I have never had anybody say they didn't love it. This recipe came from the Austin, TX Junior League Cookbook. Enjoy!

BUTTERMILK CHOCOLATE CAKE
This is from Canadian Living Holiday Baking 1995. I like it made in advance; it gets fudgier and fudgier. Also great in a bundt pan, as a layer cake or as cupcakes (24). If you use the bundt pan, butter it heavily. Let cool for about 20 minutes then invert and gently ease out. The icing is shiny because of the corn syrup. It makes a really nice glaze especially on the bundt cake. (68 old WW points for the whole cake and the icing)
