Buttered Rum Apple Cider Food

BUTTERED APPLE CIDER

Steps:

• Mix 1 stick softened butter, 1/4 cup light brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon each ground nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves until combined. Put the butter on a piece of plastic wrap and roll into a 1-inch-thick log; wrap and chill 1 hour. Pour 3 cups apple cider into a slow cooker; cover and heat on high for 1 hour. Divide 1 cup bourbon among 6 glasses. Top each with hot cider and a slice of the spiced butter.
• If you don't have a slow cooker, keep these drinks warm in a saucepan on the stovetop over low heat.

HOT APPLE CIDER WITH RUM

Steps:

• Stud the apple with the cloves. In a medium pot, combine the studded apple and remaining ingredients except the rum. Slowly bring to a simmer over low heat. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and add the rum. Discard the apple. Ladle into mugs and garnish each with a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.

BUTTERED RUM APPLE CIDER

Steps:

• Boil first 6 ingredients in heavy small saucepan 5 minutes.
• Remove from heat.
• Add butter and stir to melt.
• Strain into 2 warm mugs.
• Add half of rum to each.

BUTTERED RUM-SPICED CIDER

Steps:

• In a saucepan, add cider, cloves, nutmeg, ground cinnamon, and cinnamon sticks.
• Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; reduce heat; simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
• Strain mixture to remove cloves and cinnamon sticks.
• In individual mugs (6 mugs total), place 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons rum.
• Fill each mug with hot cider; stir.
• Enjoy.

BUTTERED RUM APPLE PIE

Steps:

• Melt 1/4 cup butter in a large skillet over medium low heat; stir in the brown sugar, apples, lemon rind, lemon juice, and nutmeg. Cover, reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until the apple is tender, stirring occasionally.
• Combine the rum and cornstarch, stirring until smooth. Stir into the apple mixture; cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute or until thickened. Pour into pastry shell.
• Combine flour and 1/2 cup sugar in a bowl; cut in the remaining 1/4 cup butter with a pastry blender or fork until the mixture is crumbly. Stir in the almonds. Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the apple mixture.
• Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving.

BUTTERED RUM-SPICED CIDER

Steps:

• Heat cider, cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon sticks to boiling in 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat; reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered 10 minutes. Strain cider mixture to remove cloves and cinnamon sticks if desired.
• For each serving, place 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon brown sugar and 2 tablespoons rum in mug. Fill with hot cider.
