Steps:
- Pour whipping cream into stand mixer bowl and start on medium speed. You can also use a traditional bowl and hand mixer.
- Add the powdered sugar one tablespoon at a time followed by the sugar, and salt.
- Once the ingredients are mixed in, increase the speed and whip to a slightly firm consistency. You don't want super stiff cream since this isn't for frosting.
- Add the butterscotch caramel topping and continue beating to desired consistency. I try to go for something a little stiffer than Cool Whip but looser than frosting.
- Spoon 1-2 teaspoons into a cold mug or glass. Pour the chilled cream soda into the glass stirring somewhat slowly with a spoon. You don't want make the two things one but stirring it will build a better head. Once the head starts to form pretty good, you can stop stirring.
- Serve cold and enjoy.
- Notes: You can put the unused cream into a plastic container and it will keep in the fridge for a few days. I have tested several brands of cream soda (IBC, Sprechers, Frostop) but the one that tastes the closest to what you will get at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is definitely Boylan's Cream Soda. I use Mrs. Richardson's Butterscotch Caramel Topping and pink sea salt. I do know that the WWHP uses a non-dairy topping and I'm on the hunt for Rich's Whip Topping but no luck yet!

- Hot Butterbeer. Ever had a perfectly flavored, not-too-sweet glass of warmed milk? That's pretty much what you're getting with this seasonal treat, designed to take the edge off those inevitable (if only occasional) chilly winter days down in the shadows of Diagon Alley.
- Butterbeer. Asked, "What does Butterbeer taste like?" before Universal even began working to create the stuff, J.K. Rowling was quoted as saying that she imagined it to be "a bit like less sickly butterscotch."
- Butterbeer Potted Cream. Showing up on the dessert menus at both The Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley and Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade, this jarred dessert is nicely presented — its rich, sweet, butterscotch-colored cream almost outshines the original in flavor; a delicate ring of bright, deliciously salty and buttery sauce has been drizzled around the edges and could be eaten with a spoon on its own, particularly if you're a lover of all things salted caramel.
- Frozen Butterbeer. What a great idea, particularly on the hottest of Central Florida afternoons (and there are a lot of those), but again, as with the fudge, while you get an echo of the original here, what you also get is a lot of ice and probably brain freeze if you don't take it in small doses.
- Butterbeer Fudge. Sold only at Honeydukes — the expansive sweet shop at Hogsmeade — and the charming Sugarplum's in Diagon Alley, here we have one of the more elusive ways to experience Butterbeer; on my first try, they were out at Sugarplum's, but I ended up snagging some at Honeydukes, so it was fine.

- Butterbeer. Take all the joy of frozen butterbeer and de-slushify it. The result is a very sweet cream soda with a head of butterscotch marshmallow cream.
- The Great Feast Platter. When the students of Hogwarts start a new term, they indulge in the Great Feast, a legendary smorgasbord of everything a young British street urchin could dream of.
- Sticky Toffee Pudding. All of the sweets in Three Broomsticks skew towards the ultra-sugary side of things, but the Sticky Toffee Pudding takes the proverbial pudding cake.
- Chocolate Frog. Let's get one thing straight: Nobody really cares about the actual chocolate frog. You buy a chocolate frog for the pentagram-shaped collectible card inside.
- Pumpkin Juice. Pumpkin juice is basically the go-to beverage for wizards in the Harry Potter books and if you're the type of person that prefers “orange drink” to orange juice, then you'll love the PJ.
