GLUTEN-FREE BOURBON BBQ SHREDDED BEEF
This gluten-free bourbon bbq shredded beef recipe is a magical combination of juicy beef in a garlic and onion barbecue sauce, placed in your slow cooker along with a dash of bourbon, and ready for your enjoyment after a busy day!

Steps:
- Line your slow cooker with a slow cooker liner for easy clean up.
- Combine all ingredients (except the beef) in the bottom of the crockpot and stir to mix well. Place the beef in the crock pot and spoon sauce all over the meat.
- Turn the slow cooker on low and cook for 8-10 hours (or on high for 5-6 hours), spooning sauce over the meat a couple of times if you can. (if you can't..... no biggie!)
- Serve it up and enjoy!

CROCKPOT SHREDDED BEEF BARBECUE
Perfect for a summer cookout or potluck, this shredded beef barbecue recipe is made easily in the crockpot!

- Combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Set aside. Add chuck roast to slow cooker, drizzle with mustard and rub into the meat.
- Sprinkle with half of the rub. Rub into the meat, flip the roast over and rub the remaining rub into the meat. Pour in beef broth and liquid smoke (if using), being careful to pour it around the roast, not over it. You don't want to wash away that rub and mustard! Top with butter slices. Cover and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours, or until roast is fork tender.
- Remove roast from slow cooker to a large cutting board and shred, discarding large fat pieces. Drain cooking juices from the slow cooker and return shredded beef to the slow cooker.

- Make the Rub: Combine 1 tablespoon brown sugar with remaining rub ingredients in a small mixing bowl. Set aside.
- Prepare Brisket: Score the fat on top of the brisket with a paring knife. Massage the rub thoroughly onto ALL sides of the brisket, being sure to rub into the slits on the fat side. OPTIONAL: If time permits, transfer the brisket into a large baking dish, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes-24 hours.
- To braise brisket in the slow cooker: Combine the remaining ¼ cup sugar, garlic, stout, bourbon, Worcestershire, soy sauce, onion powder, celery salt and thyme in a slow cooker. Whisk to combine. Add the rubbed brisket to the slow cooker, fatty side facing up, squishing the brisket in if needed.
- Cover and slow cook on LOW until the brisket is very tender to touch but still holds its shape, about 7 ½ -8 ½ hours (assuming you used a 3 pound brisket, if you used a 4 pound brisket cook 9 ½ - 10 ½ hours on LOW). I do not recommend cooking the brisket on HIGH.
