This gluten-free bourbon bbq shredded beef recipe is a magical combination of juicy beef in a garlic and onion barbecue sauce, placed in your slow cooker along with a dash of bourbon, and ready for your enjoyment after a busy day!

1.5 - 2 pounds of boneless beef of your choice, cheaper cuts are okay here as it is slow cooked all day!
1.5 -2 cups of GF barbecue sauce
1/4 yellow onion, chopped
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
1.5 tablespoon onion powder OR dried chopped onion
3 tablespoon GF soy sauce
3 tablespoon GF bourbon/whiskey, optional

Steps:

  • Line your slow cooker with a slow cooker liner for easy clean up.
  • Combine all ingredients (except the beef) in the bottom of the crockpot and stir to mix well. Place the beef in the crock pot and spoon sauce all over the meat.
  • Turn the slow cooker on low and cook for 8-10 hours (or on high for 5-6 hours), spooning sauce over the meat a couple of times if you can. (if you can't..... no biggie!)
  • Serve it up and enjoy!

1 beef sirloin tip roast (2-1/2 pounds)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 cup ketchup
1 cup water
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons celery seed
2 teaspoons chili powder
12 kaiser rolls, split

Steps:

  • Sprinkle roast with salt and pepper. In a nonstick skillet, brown roast in oil on all sides over medium-high heat; drain. Transfer to a 5-qt. slow cooker. Combine next 10 ingredients; pour over roast., Cover and cook on low until meat is tender, 8-10 hours. Remove meat; shred with two forks and return to slow cooker. Spoon 1/2 cup meat mixture onto each roll.

1 cup chopped onion, or more to taste
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
¼ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons vinegar
4 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon dry mustard
1 ½ pounds boneless beef chuck roast

Steps:

  • Stir onion, tomato sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, chili powder, soy sauce, salt, and mustard together in a slow cooker; add roast. Spoon onion mixture over the beef to coat.
  • Cook on High for 7 hours. Shred meat in slow cooker with a pair of forks. Continue cooking 1 hour more.

Perfect for a summer cookout or potluck, this shredded beef barbecue recipe is made easily in the crockpot!

2 - 3 Tbsp packed light brown sugar
2 1/2 tsp paprika
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp black pepper
4 lb beef chuck roast
2 Tbsp yellow mustard
2/3 cup beef broth
1 tsp liquid smoke ((optional))
3 - 4 Tbsp unsalted butter ((sliced))
1 large yellow onion, finely minced
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 Tbsp butter
1 tsp olive oil
salt and pepper, to taste
20 - 24 oz bottle of ketchup
1/3 - 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 - 3 Tbsp molasses
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Set aside. Add chuck roast to slow cooker, drizzle with mustard and rub into the meat.
  • Sprinkle with half of the rub. Rub into the meat, flip the roast over and rub the remaining rub into the meat. Pour in beef broth and liquid smoke (if using), being careful to pour it around the roast, not over it. You don't want to wash away that rub and mustard! Top with butter slices. Cover and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours, or until roast is fork tender.
  • Remove roast from slow cooker to a large cutting board and shred, discarding large fat pieces. Drain cooking juices from the slow cooker and return shredded beef to the slow cooker.

3 celery ribs, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 cup ketchup
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
3 tablespoon chili powder
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons molasses
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon ground mustard
8 to 10 sandwich rolls, split

Steps:

  • Place beef in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Add the celery, onion and green pepper. In a bowl, combine the ketchup, tomato paste, brown sugar, vinegar, chili powder, lemon juice, molasses, salt, Worcestershire sauce and mustard. Pour over beef mixture. Cover and cook on low for 8-9 hours or until meat is tender., Skim fat from cooking juices if necessary. Shred beef. Toast rolls if desired. Use a slotted spoon to serve beef on rolls.

  • Prepare Brisket: Score the fat on top of the brisket with a paring knife. Massage the rub thoroughly onto ALL sides of the brisket, being sure to rub into the slits on the fat side. OPTIONAL: If time permits, transfer the brisket into a large baking dish, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes-24 hours.
  • To braise brisket in the slow cooker: Combine the remaining ¼ cup sugar, garlic, stout, bourbon, Worcestershire, soy sauce, onion powder, celery salt and thyme in a slow cooker. Whisk to combine. Add the rubbed brisket to the slow cooker, fatty side facing up, squishing the brisket in if needed.
  • Cover and slow cook on LOW until the brisket is very tender to touch but still holds its shape, about 7 ½ -8 ½ hours (assuming you used a 3 pound brisket, if you used a 4 pound brisket cook 9 ½ - 10 ½ hours on LOW). I do not recommend cooking the brisket on HIGH.
