BIG BOB GIBSON'S ALABAMA WHITE BBQ SAUCE
Steps:
- Place all ingredients in a very large blender or food processor. (It may be necessary to do this in 2 batches; just add 1/2 of each ingredient and then repeat.) Blend for 1 minute, or until thoroughly combined and mixture is smooth. Pour sauce into a large bowl.
- Use when grilling chicken; brush lightly over the chicken during the last few minutes of grilling. This sauce is also great for dipping; set some sauce aside for passing at the table.

WHITE BARBECUE SAUCE
Pitmaster Bob Gibson started using this now-famous table sauce at Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q in Decatur, AL, almost 100 years ago. Bob's kin think the mayo-based condiment was his way of keeping his three-hour barbecue chicken moist.

ALABAMA-STYLE WHITE BARBECUE SAUCE
This incredibly easy-to-make Alabama white barbecue sauce was invented in 1925 by Robert 'Big Bob' Gibson at Big Bob Gibson's Bar-B-Q restaurant, in Decatur. Don't let this mixture's appearance stop you from trying what is a devastatingly delicious marinade, basting sauce, and serving sauce.

WHITE BBQ SAUCE
Bodacious White BBQ Sauce Recipe courtesy of Glenn Coleman of Pensacola, FL, for FoodNetwork.com's BBQ Sauce Championship Cook-Off The original recipe was made with salad dressing but this is much better. The idea of white BBQ sauce comes from the North Alabama region. 1 gal heavy mayo 7 cups white vinegar 1 cup lemon juice 1 cup black pepper 1 cup salt (may be reduced slightly) Mix well and refrigerate 18-24 hours. Do not taste after mixing--it is awful...just wait. Serve as a dip with pulled pork or grilled chicken. Excellent as a dip for fresh vegetables or on a baked potato. Mix 1-2 tablespoons into eggs when beating them for an omelet. Can also be used as a marinade for chicken or fish. May be the best dip ever for any blackened fish. A viewer, who may not be a professional cook, provided this recipe. The Food Network Kitchens chefs have not tested this recipe and therefore, we cannot make representation as to the results. Steps:
- For the BBQ Sauce:
- Whisk all the ingredients together in a medium bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before using. Reserve a ramekin full of sauce, about 1/2 cup, to serve on the side.
- For the chicken:
- Preheat half of the grill to medium-high heat and the other half to low heat. Using tongs, dip a folded towel into olive oil and wipe over the grill grate.
- Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Arrange the chicken, skin side down, on the hottest area of the grill. Grill until seared and golden brown and crisp on each side, about 5 minutes. Move the chicken to the cooler part of the grill and brush with barbecue sauce. Continue to cook until the juices run clear, about 20 to 25 minutes. Do not forget to flip the chicken halfway through its cooking time. Transfer the chicken to a serving platter and serve with sauce on the side.
BODACIOUS BBQ BABY BACK RIBS
These ribs always get raves! They are tender and moist, and the homemade BBQ sauce is scrumptious! These are very similar to the ribs that are served at Applebee's. I actually found this recipe in a magazine and have been hooked on these bodacious ribs ever since!
