THE BEST STIR FRY SAUCE

The BEST Stir Fry Sauce image

This really is the BEST Stir Fry Sauce! It's homemade, healthy and so easy to make!

Provided by She Likes Food

Categories     Condiment

Time 8m

Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/3 cup water
1/3 cup tamari, I like to use low sodium
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup toasted sesame oil
1 clove garlic, finely grated
1 1/2 teaspoons finely grated ginger
1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch or arrowroot starch
1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Add all stir fry ingredients to a jar or medium sized bowl and shake or stir until well combined. This stir fry sauce can be made ahead and refrigerated until needed but I would recommend leaving out the arrowroot powder until ready to use.
  • When your stir fry is about 3 minutes from being finished, pour the stir fry sauce over and stir occasionally until sauce is thickened and coats the back of a spoon or spatula, about 5 minutes.

BEST TASTING AND EASY STIR FRY SAUCE

Best Tasting and Easy Stir Fry Sauce image

Make and share this Best Tasting and Easy Stir Fry Sauce recipe from Food.com.

Provided by Rev.CCJ

Categories     Sauces

Time 20m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 cup chicken stock (or low-sodium broth)
3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon sherry wine (or Chinese cooking wine)
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon cornstarch (dissolved in 1 tablespoon water)
1/2 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon peanut oil
3 tablespoons fresh ginger (peeled and minced)
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the stock with the soy sauce, sherry, sugar, cornstarch slurry, vinegar and sesame oil. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
  • In a medium saucepan, heat the peanut oil until shimmering. Add the ginger and crushed red pepper and cook over high heat, stirring, until fragrant and golden.
  • Add the stock mixture and boil over high heat until thickened and glossy, about 1 minute.
  • Note/Ideas: I usually add some garlic and some fresh orange juice instead of all that stock and 1/4 teaspoon of salt - I think this is really nice because it gives you a lot of sauce - I don't like a dry stir fry, especially over rice.

Provided by Andi

Number Of Ingredients 36

⅓ cup soy sauce (low sodium) (or coconut aminos)
¼ cup avocado oil (or other cooking oil)
1 Tbsp cornstarch (or 1 Tbsp arrowroot powder, or 2 Tbsp tapioca starch)
2 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
pinch of red pepper flakes
¼ cup avocado oil (or other cooking oil)
3 Tbsp soy sauce (or coconut aminos (soy-free alternative))
½ freshly squeezed lemon (about 2 Tbsp of lemon juice)
2 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
1-2 tsp honey (or maple syrup (optional))
1 garlic clove (minced)
3 Tbsp nut butter or seed butter (almond butter, sunflower seed butter etc.)
3 Tbsp soy sauce (or coconut aminos (soy-free alternative))
3 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
1 Tbsp honey (or maple syrup, stevia or xylitol)
4 Tbsp pineapple juice (note: add the pineapple chunks the the stir fry you make)
3 Tbsp soy sauce (or coconut aminos (soy-free alternative))
2 Tbsp avocado oil (or other cooking oil)
1 Tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
1 Tbsp cornstarch (or 1 Tbsp arrowroot powder, or 2 Tbsp tapioca starch)
½ tsp paprika
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
pinch of red pepper flakes
3 Tbsp soy sauce (or coconut aminos (soy-free alternative))
3 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp avocado oil (or other cooking oil)
1 Tbsp coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
1 Tbsp cornstarch (or 1 Tbsp arrowroot powder, or 2 Tbsp tapioca starch)
2 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
1 garlic clove (minced)
2 Tbsp apple cider viengar
2 Tbsp soy sauce (or coconut aminos (soy-free alternative))
3 Tbsp tomato paste
1 Tbsp cornstarch (or 1 Tbsp arrowroot powder, or 2 Tbsp tapioca starch)
1 Tbsp honey (or maple syrup)

Steps:

  • Start Your Grains First - What will the base of your stir fry be? Will you need to cook rice, quinoa, buckwheat groats or even pasta? The base you choose should be cooked first before starting the rest of the meal.
  • Wash, prep and chop all the ingredients before you start - Grab all the ingredients you'll need and place them on the counter. This will make the cooking process so much easier. First, prep the stir fry sauce in a bowl or mason jar. Then wash and chop all the vegetables. And last, slice the meat.
  • First, heat a high smoke point cooking oil in the pan over medium heat for 2 mins (I use avocado oil).
  • Next add the veggies and cook until they're almost done - stirring occasionally. Pour the veggies into a bowl and set aside for now.
  • Add a bit more cooking oil and the meat to the pan - cook 3 minutes until meat starts to brown. Now add all the veggies back to the pan.
  • Pour the stir fry sauce overtop. Cook an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Place in a serving dish or right on top of a bed of rice, quinoa, buckwheat groats etc. Drizzle extra sauce from pan on top. Serve and enjoy!

7 HEALTHY STIR-FRY RECIPES

From healthline.com
Estimated Reading Time 7 mins
  • Chicken stir-fry. Chicken is one of the most popular meats to include in a stir-fry, as it’s an affordable source of satisfying protein and soaks up flavors well (1).
  • Shrimp stir-fry. Adding shrimp to a stir-fry is an easy way to increase your intake of the heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids found in seafood (2). Cook about 1 pound (450 grams) of peeled and deveined shrimp in 1 tablespoon (15 mL) of oil until it turns pink, about 2–3 minutes per side.
  • Beef stir-fry. If you’re in the mood for a highly flavorful stir-fry, use beef as your protein source. Slice 1 pound (450 grams) of beef sirloin into thin strips.
  • Noodle stir-fry. Noodle stir-fry, often referred to as lo mein, features ramen or spaghetti noodles that are added to the skillet at the end of the cooking process.
  • Veggie and edamame stir-fry. For a vegetarian or vegan option, try a veggie stir-fry. You can use all kinds of veggies in a stir-fry, including fresh, frozen, or roasted.
  • Tofu stir-fry. Tofu is an excellent source of plant-based protein and can be used in place of chicken, beef, or shrimp in most stir-fry recipes. For a delicious tofu stir-fry, drain a 14-ounce (397-gram) package of firm tofu and cut it into cubes.
  • Fridge or freezer stir-fry. Most stir-fries tend to have the same basic formula. You can combine any kind of protein and veggies you have on hand and make a basic sauce from pantry ingredients.
