- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Saute onion and mushrooms in butter.
- Add broth and cook for 5 minutes.
- Put rice in a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish.
- Pour broth mixture over rice.
- Cover and bake 45-60 minutes.
BEEF FLAVORED RICE
My family loves this side with beef and gravy recipes. We like to shred beef and place it on this rice and then top with gravy. You can also use this using chicken bouillon.

Steps:
- Place the bouillon in the water and add rice. I like using the better then bouillon but haved used bouillon cubes also. You can also use white rice if you prefer.
- I like making this in the microwave but you can also cook it on the stove top.
- In the microwave I cook on high for about 17 minutes.
- Microwaves vary so keep on eye on the rice.
- Fluff rice and serve.

- Mis Rice Mix, water, carrots and celery in medium saucepan. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 25 minutes or until most of the water is absorbed and rice is tender. Remove from heat. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of the oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add beef; cook and stir 3 to 4 minutes or until no longer pink. Remove from skillet.
- Heat remaining 1 tablespoon oil in skillet. Add eggs and green onions; scramble until set. Add rice mixture and beef; cook and stir until well blended.

- In a large skilled crumble ground beef. Cook over medium heat just until cooked through but not browned.
- Remove from heat. Drain and rinse under hot water to remove excess fat.
- Cool completely.
- Return to pan. Add the cooked brown rice, chopped alfalfa sprouts, carrots and cottage cheese.
- Package into individual meals. This recipe should remain good for three days in the refrigerator. Freeze any portions meals that won't be used before then.

My first attempt at brown rice in Pampered Chef's rice cooker was crunchy, so I added more water and got good rice. The rice I had did not have microwave instructions, and I didn't want to start buying a different brand and that is why I am adding this so I can look up how I got it to work. If you make your own stock you can probably use that in place of the water, and leave the stock cubes out. I just used what I had on hand.

- In a medium bowl, combine the sirloin with 1 tablespoon of the soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of the sesame oil, and a pinch of red-pepper flakes. Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Stir in the rice and boil until just done, about 10 minutes. Drain the rice and return it to the pot.
- Meanwhile, heat a large nonstick frying pan over moderately high heat. Put the beef mixture in the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and just cooked, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove. Put the watercress and the teaspoon of soy sauce in the pan and cook until the watercress is just wilted, about 30 seconds. Remove.
- Reduce the heat to moderate. Put a few drops of sesame oil in the frying pan. Add the egg to the pan and cook until just done, about 30 seconds. Remove from the pan and cut into thin strips.
- Heat the cooking oil in the pan over moderately high heat. Add the scallions and 1/8 teaspoon red-pepper flakes and cook, stirring, for 1 minute.
