Perfect for satisfying a fierce chocolate craving, this smoothie is rich and dessert-like, but full of good stuff. And only three ingredients - four if you count the ice.

1 cup light canned coconut milk (coconut milk from a carton or full-fat from a can works too)
1 medium banana
2 tablespoons [url href="https://www.kitchentreaty.com/homemade-chocolate-syrup/"]chocolate syrup[/url]
1 cup ice

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Pour into a glass and serve with a straw.

Vegan Chocolate and Banana Smoothie image

Without the Tru-Food supplement, this sweet, creamy smoothie makes for about 250 calories -- the perfect addition to a balanced breakfast. With the supplement, you add protein and almost all of the essential vitamins and minerals, a particularly important factor for vegans (but recommended for everyone, of course). Tru-Food is the most cost-friendly all-in-one vegan supplement I have been able to find so far, and while its taste is somewhat grassy, it can be balanced out with the addition of some agave nectar.
