Steps:
- In a medium bowl, toss shrimp, garlic, rosemary, thyme, and oil. Set aside to marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- Place bacon in a large skillet, and place over medium-high heat. Cook bacon, stirring occasionally, until almost all the fat is rendered, 6 to 7 minutes. Swirl in butter; cook, swirling skillet until butter has melted. Pour the sauce over shrimp, and serve with Lentils with Scallions and Peppers.

PORTUGUESE SHRIMP
I received this recipe nearly 40 years ago from a co-worker who was raised in Portugal. She made this Portuguese shrimp dish for an office potluck and everyone wanted the recipe! It is easy to make, impressive to serve, and delicious. The sauce is also good served on fish fillets. -Kristine Chayes, Smithtown, New York

SHRIMP PROVENCAL
For a gourmet meal this is very easy to prepare. Leftovers reheat well the next day too! Instead of using fresh shrimp like the recipe originally called (took too long the first time I did it) we now use frozen, raw, peeled and it tastes the exact same, but with 1/4 of the time! This is great over rice and served with French bread.

- Aged Balsamic Vinegar, or as it is known in Italy, tradizionale, accumulates its flavor in a variety of wooden casks for as long as one hundred years. The result is a very concentrated dark brown, thick sweet vinegar, and it is a great luxury. If you do not have it in your pantry - chefs have learned to do as the Italians so - reduce your commercial-grade balsamic vinegar with a little brown sugar. It is a good second.
