This is my family's signature dip recipe and will make everyone a fan of clams in cream cheese whether they think they like it or not!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 8- ounce package cream cheese (, at room temperature)
1 6.5- ounce can of minced clams (, drained and juice reserved)
2 green onions (, white and green parts, finely chopped)
1/2 lemon (, juiced)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Tabasco sauce to taste

Steps:

  • In a medium sized bowl, mash softened cream cheese with a fork until soft and creamy. Slowly add in 1 tablespoon of clam juice while mixing with fork and cream well. Add lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Add green onion and clams to mixture. Add a few dashes of Tabasco to taste. If mixture seems thick, add remaining clam juice in one tablespoon increments to desired consistency. Serve with potato chips or refrigerate for up to 2 days.

2 (8 ounce) cans minced clams, drained
2 teaspoons lemon juice

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, green onions, clams and lemon juice. Cut the top out of the bread and hollow the bread out. Pour the clam mixture into the bread bowl and place the bread top back on the bread bowl.

1/2 tsp dried parsley
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp salt

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Add olive oil to a skillet and set over medium heat. Add chopped onion and saute for 5-6 minutes, or until the onion is golden.
  • Turn off the heat and add the two cans of clams, including the juice. Add Parmesan, hot sauce, garlic powder, oregano, parsley, thyme, salt, and pepper and stir to combine.
  • Add breadcrumbs and stir as the mixture thickens.

6 tbsp unsalted butter (¾ stick)
1 cup onion (chopped)
1 red bell pepper (seeded and chopped)
1 cup celery (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 whole lemon (juiced, about 2 tbsps)
3 6.5 oz. cans clams (chopped, with juice)
1 tbsp hot sauce (ie, Tobasco of Krytsals)
½ tsp Kosher salt
2 cups bread crumbs (Italian-style Panko crumbs are great!)
¼ cup Parmesan cheese (grated, optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion, pepper, celery, and garlic. Cook until tender, about 10 minutes
  • Add lemon juice, clams (with juice), hot sauce and salt
  • Take off the heat and add the bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese (if using)¼
  • Put into a greased medium-sized casserole dish (8"x11" works well).
  • Bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and turn on the broiler
  • Add the dish back in and broil for about 3 minutes...until lightly browned on top (keep an eye on this...will brown quickly).

1 cup mayonnsaise

  • Preheat oven to 350deg;F. Slice top 2 inches off bread and reserve for lid. Cut out insides of bread, leaving 1-inch-thick shell. (Reserve cut-out bread for another use.) Stir in the cream cheese and mayo, allowing everything to melt together. Continue to stir occasionally for a few minutes, until the dip is thoroughly combined and bubbling slightly. Stir in the chives.
