Steps:

  • Wash and trim asparagus spears.
  • Cut bacon strips in half crosswise.
  • Wrap one-half strip bacon around each asparagus spear, leaving tip and end exposed.
  • Lay on a cookie sheet with sides.
  • Bake in a preheated 400 degree Fahrenheit oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until bacon is cooked.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.

20 asparagus spears
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Cut the bacon slices in half, creating 20 separate strips.
  • Trim off the woody ends of the asparagus. You may need to trim the spears slightly shorter, depending on the size of your air fryer. Make sure the spears will fit before proceeding.
  • Wrap a slice of bacon around each spear of asparagus, starting at one end and slightly overlapping as you wrap it around towards the other end.
  • Season the bacon wrapped spears with freshly ground black pepper.
  • Place the spears in the air fryer basket. Cook according the the manufacturer's directions of your appliance at 375 F for 8 minutes.
  • Turn the spears over and cook for 5 minutes more, or until the bacon is crisp.

1 1/2 pounds asparagus spears, trimmed 4 to 5 inches long tips
Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
A few grinds black pepper
4 slices center cut bacon or pancetta
Chopped chives or scallions, optional garnish

Steps:

  • Preheat oven, if using, to 400 degrees F.
  • Lightly coat asparagus spears in extra-virgin olive oil. Season the asparagus with black pepper. Take a quick count of the spear tips. Divide the total number by four. Gather that number of spears and use a slice of bacon to wrap the bundle and secure the spears together. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  • To grill, place bundles on hot grill and cover. Cook 10 to 12 minutes until bacon is crisp and asparagus bundles are tender.
  • For oven preparation, place bundles on slotted broiler pan. Bake 12 minutes.

Steps:

  • Preheat your grill to medium-high direct heat.
  • Trim the asparagus of the woody ends. Place on a sheet tray and drizzle with olive oil. Season with freshly ground black pepper and salt.
  • Wrap bacon slices around each asparagus spear. Skewer both ends of asparagus on each side to secure the bacon. Add 3 to 4 asparagus to each skewer.
  • Grill skewers on direct heat until the asparagus is tender and the bacon is crisp about 15 minutes; halfway through the grilling flip the asparagus. Transfer to a platter, remove the skewers and serve.

1 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning, or to taste
3 slices Monterey Jack cheese
6 spears fresh asparagus
9 slices bacon
12 each wooden toothpicks

Steps:

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) if recommended by manufacturer.
  • Pat chicken pieces dry with paper towels. Use a sharp knife slice horizontally through the middle, beginning at the thickest part, being careful not to cut all the way through to the other side. Open the 2 sides and spread them out like an open book.
  • Season both sides with lemon-pepper seasoning. Place 1 slice of cheese on each chicken breast. Cut asparagus spears in half and place 4 halves on top of the cheese. 1 shallot, thinly sliced
1 pinch salt, or to taste

  • Cook and stir bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 5 minutes. Discard grease.
  • Melt butter in the same skillet.
  • Cook and stir asparagus and shallot with salt and black pepper in melted butter and bacon. Cover skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until asparagus are tender, about 5 minutes.

The trick is wrapping bundles of asparagus, instead of individual stalks. As the bundles bake, the bacon drippings infuse the stalks with smoky flavor and transform this sometimes-woody vegetable into a silky smooth and meltingly tender masterpiece which, in our experience, no one can resist!

2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 lb fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
8 slices bacon
1 lemon, cut in wedges

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 425°F. Line 18x13-inch rimmed pan with foil. Place large rack in pan; spray rack and foil with cooking spray.
  • In large shallow bowl or pie plate, mix melted butter and pepper flakes. Add asparagus; toss thoroughly to coat. Divide asparagus evenly into 8 bundles. Wrap each bundle in one slice of bacon. Do not overlap the bacon. If desired, secure each bundle with 2 toothpicks; place toothpick-side down on rack. Drizzle with any remaining butter mixture.
