Foil Packet Baked Red Potatoes With Bacon recipe is such an easy way to make potatoes! You are sure to love this. The best part of it all - other than the absolutely delicious potato side dish - is that you don't have to dirty any dishes and the cleanup is a snap!

3 or 4 medium potatoes ((sliced - we used red potatoes, but use your favorite!))
4 strips bacon ((sliced))
1/2 small onion ((small, or use 1 shallot - chopped or diced))
4 Tbsp butter ((1 pat of butter per packet, approx 1 Tbsp each))
each, salt & pepper ((to taste))
garlic powder ((optional, to taste))

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) - you can set the temp higher for faster cook times but the flavors blend nicely with a longer cook time.
  • Pull off large squares of aluminum foil. Portion out sliced potatoes, bacon and onion. Season with garlic powder, salt & pepper. Top each packets ingredients with a pat of butter.
  • Seal packets and bake in preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for one hour or until potatoes are tender.
  • Open the foil packets cautiously to avoid steam burns, serve and enjoy!

1 pkg onion soup powder
10-12 baby red potatoes, thinly sliced
12 slice cooked and crumbled bacon
1 small onion thinly sliced and diced
1 c 3 cheese (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
3 Tbsp butter
sour cream for serving

Steps:

  • 1. Spray each sheet of foil with cooking spray. Top each piece with equal portions of potatoes, bacon,onion soup powder and mix. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add butter to each serving.
  • 2. Wrap securely. Grill for 20-30 minutes. Or you can bake it in the oven, at 350° for about 35 minutes or till done. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Serve in foil,topped with sour cream if desired

We sometimes leave out the sausage and serve the potatoes as a side dish. Either way, it's so easy, and the spuds can be served right from the foil pouch for easy cleanup. 3 pounds red potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
2 packages (12 ounces each) smoked sausage links, cut into 1/2-inch slices
4 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Additional chopped fresh parsley, optional

Steps:

  • Prepare campfire or grill for medium heat. In a large bowl, toss potatoes with sausage, bacon, onion, parsley, salts and pepper. , Divide mixture among eight 18x12-in. pieces of heavy-duty nonstick foil, placing food on dull side of foil. Fold foil around potato mixture, sealing tightly. , Place packets over campfire or grill; cook 15 minutes on each side or until potatoes are tender. Open packets carefully to allow steam to escape. If desired, sprinkle with additional parsley.

These guys can go on your grill and they are delish! DON'T add any salt! The onion soup mix is salty and so is the bacon, then if you throw in the cheese, you gotta salt bomb!

4 sheet(s) heavy-duty foil
1 pkg dry onion soup mix, divided between the 4 pouches
16 baby red potatoes, thinly sliced
16 slice bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 medium shallot, small diced
1 c cheese (optional)
fresh ground black pepper to taste
4 Tbsp butter
1/2 sprig(s) fresh rosemary for each serving
sour cream for serving (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Spray each sheet of foil with Pam.
  • 2. Top each piece with equal portions of potatoes, bacon, 1/4 packet onion soup mix and mix it up
  • 3. Add pepper to taste
  • 4. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to each serving
  • 5. Put the rosemary sprig on top of the butter
  • 6. Wrap them up tight
  • 7. Grill for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • 8. Or you can bake it in the oven, at 350° for about 35 minutes or till done (they're better grilled IMHO!)
  • 9. Let stand 10 minutes before serving
  • 10. Serve in foil, topped with sour cream or cheese or both if you want
