An easy fruit shake you can create up in minutes, with creamy vanilla ice cream, a pinch of cinnamon and a swizzle of whipped cream

250ml semi-skimmed milk
1scoop vanilla ice cream
2 bananas, chopped
50ml double cream, whipped
pinch cinnamon
a few dried banana chips
1 fresh cherry

Steps:

  • Put the milk, vanilla ice cream and banana into a blender. Whizz everything up until smooth then pour into a tall glass.
  • Top with a big spoonful of whipped cream and decorate with a pinch of cinnamon, some banana chips and a cherry. Serve immediately with a colourful straw.

1 banana

Steps:

  • Put the ice cream, peanut butter, milk and banana in a blender and mix on high speed until fully combined. Pour into glasses, top with whipped cream and chopped peanuts and serve immediately.

1 medium banana
1 cup 2% low-fat milk
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Remove peel from banana.
  • Wrap banana in heavy-duty plastic wrap, and freeze until firm.
  • Remove banana from freezer, and cut into large chunks.
  • Place banana in container of an electric blender; add milk, sugar, and vanilla.
  • Cover and process on high speed 2 minutes or until smooth.
  • Pour into chilled glasses to serve.

1 overly ripe banana, peeled and cut into chunks
1/4 cup good quality caramel sauce (recommended: Fran's), plus more for garnish
Pinch ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon dark rum, optional
1/3 cup whole milk
10 ounces vanilla ice cream
Whipped cream, for garnish
Banana slices, for garnish

Steps:

  • In a blender, combine the banana, caramel sauce, cinnamon, rum, if using, and milk and blend until smooth. Add the ice cream and blend until incorporated. Pour into a tall glass, and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream, a few slices of banana and a drizzle of caramel sauce. Serve immediately.

My mom made this when we were younger and I have adapted and made it my own. tip: you can also substitute orange juice instead of pineapple, both are delicious! chill the glass in the refrigerator for a few minutes if desired.

3/4 cup milk (I use 2%)
1 very ripe banana
1/3 cup pineapple juice
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 dash cinnamon
2 -3 drops mint extract

Steps:

  • Place first three ingredients in blender, (milk, banana and pineapple juice) and blend for 15 seconds on medium speed or until banana is smooth.
  • Add ice cream, cinnamon and mint extract and blend for another 20-30 seconds.
  • Pour into tall glass, drink and enjoy!
