ASHLEY'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
I was only 14 when I made up this recipe. Since my first batch, it's been everybody's favorite. If you follow the directions and measurements exactly, I promise that this will be your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Gradually stir in the sifted ingredients, then stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

ASHLEY'S BANANA BREAD WITH CHOCOLATE CHIP SAUCE
Steps:
- For the banana bread: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease two 9-by-5-inch loaf pans with cooking spray.
- With an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the bananas and vanilla. Sift the flour together with the baking soda and salt. Add the flour and buttermilk to the banana mixture, working in stages, and beginning and ending with the flour. Fold in the pecans.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pans and bake for 55 minutes. Cool slightly in the pan before turning the loaves out onto wire racks to cool completely.
- For the chocolate chip sauce: Add the chocolate chips to a heat-proof bowl. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until hot but not boiling. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and stir until chocolate is fully melted. Serve over slices of banana bread.

- Preheat oven to 375°.
- Cream butter, sugars and vanilla until fluffy.
- Add eggs and mix well.
- In another bowl, mix baking soda, salt, cocoa and flour well.
- Add the flour mixture into the butter mixture gradually and mix well.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop by tablespoons onto a cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let the cookies remain on the cookie sheets for about 3 minutes and then transfer them to a wire rack to cool.
