Number Of Ingredients 14

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sour cream
1 cup chopped dried apricots
1 cup chopped pecans
TOPPING:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup cold butter

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. , Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beating well after each addition. Fold in apricots and pecans. , Spoon into two greased 8x4-in. loaf pans. For topping, combine flour and sugar in a small bowl; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over batter. , Bake at 350° for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely.

1 cup boiling water
1 cup dried apricots, chopped
3 tablespoons margarine
½ cup cream cheese, softened
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup dates, pitted and chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
  • Pour boiling water over apricot pieces in a small bowl. Cool.
  • In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt, and dates.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter or margarine, cream cheese, and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until smooth. Stir in cooled apricots and water. Pour in flour mixture, and stir until moistened. Turn batter into greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour, or until it tests done. Let stand 10 minutes. Remove from pan to rack. Cool.

1 cup snipped dried apricots
2 cups warm water
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 large egg
3/4 cup orange juice
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Soak apricots in warm water for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, in a bowl, cream the sugar, butter and egg. Stir in orange juice. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; stir into creamed mixture just until combined. Drain apricots well; add to batter with nuts. Pour into a greased 9x5-in. loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 55 minutes or until bread tests done. Cool 10 minutes in pan before removing to a wire rack.

3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 cup chopped dried apricots
1 cup chopped pistachio nuts
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
2/3 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon grated lime peel
1/4 cup lime juice

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Grease bottom and sides of 2 (8x4-inch) loaf pans with shortening; lightly flour.
  • In large bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, baking soda and ginger. Stir in apricots and nuts. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, mix buttermilk, oil, eggs and vanilla until well blended. Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture and stir just until moistened. Divide batter between pans.
  • Bake 1 hour or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, covering loosely with foil after 40 minutes to prevent overbrowning, if necessary. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
  • In small bowl, mix glaze ingredients until smooth and thin enough to drizzle. Drizzle over bread.

1 cup boiling water
1-1/4 cups chopped dried apricots
2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 large egg
3/4 cup apricot nectar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1 tablespoon grated orange zest
GLAZE:
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1-1/2 teaspoons fat-free milk
2 tablespoons finely chopped pecans

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, pour boiling water over apricots; set aside. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Whisk the egg, apricot nectar and butter; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Drain apricots; fold into batter with pecans and orange zest. , Transfer to an 8x4-in. loaf pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack., For glaze, combine the brown sugar, butter and milk in a small saucepan. 110 g caster sugar

100 g self raising flour

Steps:

  • Soak apricots in hot tea for 1 hour till tea is absorbed.
  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  • Grease and line loaf pan - 13cms x 25cms.
  • With electric mixer, cream butter and sugar
  • Add egg and beat well.
  • Fold in flour and apricots.
  • Spoon into prepared pan.
  • Bake 40-45 minutes.
  • Cool in tin for 5 minutes then turn onto wire rack to cool.

3/4 cup dried apricot
boiling water (enough to cover apricots for soaking)
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons canola oil (or melted butter, for richer flavor)
1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup pecans, chopped

Steps:

  • Place apricots in a bowl and cover with boiling water. Soak for 1/2 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F Coat a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Drain apricots, reserving 1/4 cup of the soaking water.
  • Finely chop apricots. Set aside.
  • Sift together dry ingredients. Set aside.
  • Cream together the egg, sugar and oil.
  • Add flour mixture to egg mixture alternately with orange juice and reserved soaking water. Stir in apricots and pecans.
  • Spread batter in loaf pan and bake 1-1 1/4 hours, or until wooden pick inserted into center of bread comes out clean.
  • Turn out onto wire rack and cool.

1 1/4 cups milk (2 percent reduced-fat)
4 bags english breakfast tea
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup sugar, plus 1 tbsp sugar, divided
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup canola oil
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
2 teaspoons finely grated lemon peel
1/2 cup dried apricot, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F Grease the bottom of a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until hot but not boiling; remove from heat and add tea bags. Cover and let steep 6 to 7 minutes; remove tea bags, gently squeezing out milk, discard bags. Let cool.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together flours, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder and salt. In another medium bowl, combine egg, oil, lemon juice and 1 cup of the cooled milk tea. (Mixture will curdle slightly.) Add the egg mixture to the dry mixture and stir just until moistened. Fold in lemon peel an apricots.
  • Spoon the batter into the prepared pan. Bake 50 to 55 minutes, until a wooden toothpick inserted near the middle comes out clean.
  • Meanwhile stir the remaining milk tea with 2 tbsps of sugar. While bread is still in pan brush tea-sugar mixture over the top of the loaf. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes then remove to wire rack to cool.

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°; grease a 9-inch loaf pan.
  • Cut the apricots into small pieces and places in a bowl; add the boiling water and set aside to cool.

  • In a large bowl, combine the egg, vanilla, sugar and oil; beat until blended.
