BUTTERY GARLIC GREEN BEANS



Buttery Garlic Green Beans image

Only fresh green beans and garlic will do for this easy, healthy, and flavorful side dish.

1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and snapped in half
3 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 pinches lemon pepper
salt to taste

Steps:

  • Place green beans into a large skillet and cover with water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until beans start to soften, about 5 minutes. Drain water. Add butter to green beans; cook and stir until butter is melted, 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Cook and stir garlic with green beans until garlic is tender and fragrant, 3 to 4 minutes. Season with lemon pepper and salt.

1 (15 ounce) can white beans
2 tablespoons oil
4 -8 garlic cloves (or more if you wish, the more the better)
salt
pepper
1 big onion, finely chopped
1 -2 tablespoon tomato paste

Steps:

  • Blend beans, oil and garlic till it becomes a paste.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • To make the garnish, fry the onion till gets brown and add the tomato paste.
  • Let it fry for 2 more minutes and add on top of the mashed beans.
  • Serve it with sourdough bread.
  • Goes with most breads,except toast.

  • Toast 4 sliced garlic cloves and a pinch of cayenne pepper in a skillet with butter. Add 1 1/4 pounds green beans, season with salt and a pinch of sugar and cook 2 minutes. Add 1/4 cup water, cover and cook 6 minutes, then uncover and boil until the water evaporates. Season with salt and pepper and toss with chopped pecans.

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Melt butter with olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook shallot and garlic in the hot butter mixture, stirring frequently, until soft and slightly browned, 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Stir green beans with shallot mixture; season with salt and pepper. Cook and stir green beans until tender, about 12 minutes.
  • Remove skillet from heat and sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the green beans.

1/2 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
8 fat fresh garlic cloves, minced (i usually use more though ( adjust to your taste)
3 tablespoons fresh green onions, chopped
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Allow cream cheese to stand at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before making.
  • Combine all ingredients and enjoy.
  • Serve w/ veggies, crackers, bread, etc.
