To my understanding, "foods" isn't normally used unless we are talking about types of food. If there are pizzas, seafood, potato chips, ice-cream, crackers, etc. etc. on the table, is it more natural to say: There is lots of food on the table. Or: From forum.wordreference.com

(In some contexts, one can say "foods" to mean "kinds of food", but this use is marked and should be avoided by learners who have not mastered the countable/uncountable ...
