This Garlic Bacon Alfredo Sauce Is So Good, It May Have Caused My Engagement - Just Sayin' image

Have you heard of engagement chicken? The famed recipe has circled magazines and the internet for years, and the story surrounding it involves a woman awaiting

Provided by Rachel Alger

Categories     Condiments/Sauces

Time 50m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 14

Sauce:
1 stick of butter
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/4 cup garlic powder
3/4 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 cup Romano cheese
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon black pepper
Pasta:
16-ounce box of dry fettuccine noodles
Sea salt (for water)
Additions:
7 slices of center-cut bacon
1/2 sweet onion, diced

Steps:

  • Set your oven to 400°F.
  • Line a sheet pan with parchment paper (foil also works). Place 7 strips of bacon on the parchment on the left side of the pan, and add diced onions to the right side of the pan.
  • Place in the oven and cook for about 15-20 minutes. (Make sure to watch your onions and stir as needed. If the bacon completes cooking first, remove it from pan with tongs and drain it on a paper towel while the onions finish up. The onions should be lightly brown to optimize sweetness.)
  • Cook both until done, then drain them on a paper towel when complete.
  • When cool enough to handle, tear the bacon into pieces. Set it aside.
  • Bring a large pot of water to boil and salt as a rolling boil begins. Add the pasta when the water is boiling vigorously.
  • Cook in accordance with package directions.
  • Drain the pasta when al dente.
  • In a metal saucepan, begin melting the butter over medium-low heat.
  • After the butter has melted, add in the heavy cream. Allow the mixture to come together in a soft bubbling boil.
  • Add in the cheeses. Stir until everything is melted and combined.
  • Add in the pepper, garlic, and nutmeg. Keep it on medium-low heat.
  • The sauce will thicken. Continue to cook until the pasta is complete.
  • Pour the cream sauce over the cooked and drained pasta. Combine.
  • Add in the onions and bacon. Stir.
  • Taste and add salt as needed. Bacon is naturally salty, so the amount of salt you need is a personal choice. Reserving it for the end is best.
  • Let the pasta rest for 5 minutes. Serve and enjoy!

BACON ALFREDO PASTA BAKE

Bacon Alfredo Pasta Bake image

Bacon Alfredo Pasta Bake recipe is a creamy pasta dish loaded with cheese and smothered in creamy Alfredo sauce. Delicious comfort food that the whole family will go crazy for!

Provided by Ashley

Categories     Dinner

Time 50m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 lb. pasta (short cut, i.e. Penne)
2 cups Ragu Alfredo sauce
8 oz. sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
8 slices bacon, crisply cooked, crumbled
15 oz. ricotta cheese
2 teaspoons garlic, minced
2 eggs, beaten
¼ cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 cups good-quality mozzarella cheese, shredded
½ cup Panko bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Cook the pasta until just al dente, according to box instructions.
  • Drain and rinse pasta under cold water. This will stop the cooking process.
  • Mix pasta with the Ragu Alfredo sauce, sour cream/Greek yogurt and crumbled bacon.
  • Mix together the ricotta, garlic, eggs, Parmesan and parsley in a bowl until combined.
  • Sprinkle the pasta/sauce mix with salt and pepper, to your liking.
  • Add the ricotta mixture to the pasta mixture and stir to combine all ingredients.
  • Pour pasta into a 9x13 baking/casserole dish.
  • Top evenly with the mozzarella cheese.
  • Sprinkle bread crumbs evenly over everything.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until set and edges are bubbly (might take a little longer depending on how hot your oven cooks).
  • For a crispy top, broil at 450 degrees F for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese starts to brown and breadcrumbs turn a golden brown. I like to do this. Keep a good eye on it during the broiling to be sure the cheese doesn't burn. Serve warm. Enjoy!

ROASTED GARLIC & BACON ALFREDO SAUCE

Roasted Garlic & Bacon Alfredo Sauce image

Make and share this Roasted Garlic & Bacon Alfredo Sauce recipe from Food.com.

Provided by GeeWhiz

Categories     Sauces

Time 30m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 lb linguine, dry
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3 tablespoons cream cheese
3/4-1 cup parmesan cheese, grated, fresh not canned
3 tablespoons roasted garlic, pureed
1 dash black pepper
1/2 lb bacon, cooked & crumbled
parsley, for color

Steps:

  • Cook linguine until just barely tender, then drain, rinse, and set aside.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium-low heat.
  • Add cream cheese to the melted butter (this is to help thicken the sauce, if you omit it you'll have to spend more time simmering the sauce to thicken it) and stir until melted.
  • Slowly stir in the heavy cream then add remaining ingredients while continuing to stir until well blended.
  • The longer you stir and simmer, the thicker the sauce will become; the preference is yours.
  • Toss sauce with the linguine, sprinkle parsley over the top and serve warm.
  • If you don't know how to roast garlic I'm sure you'll find an excellent recipe here on Zarr; for a 'meaty' meal, try adding cooked shrimp, chicken, crab, or mushrooms.
